Alright guys I'm gona do some playing around with the subs this afternoon.

I'm not the kind to push my equitment to stupid levels but I'll give u guys a decent "vented rythmik line demo"

In the video I'll play some songs from 70 essential dub step songs and I'll also demo some movies. Includimg the new enders game. Maybe fotp and some others.

Ill let the lv12r bounce off the limiter a little bit but the fvs haven't hit it to date lol

Any movie requests are welcome.

I'll have the video posted in a few hours

Are you comparing one lv12r to two fv15hps? If so, I would interested in hearing how the lv12r fares against one fv15hp. I'm contemplating an upgrade and I could either fit two lv12s or one FV15hp. Curious how the 12 stands up against its bigger brother.

Sorry bout the quality guys.. camera wasnt auto focusing.

This is wotw. The lv12r is at max level with port chuffing audible only at close range. The limiter is barely engaging and there is no audible distortion or any unwanted noises at all.

The second part is the fv15hp at the same level in 18hz mode. Obviously its not hitting the limiter at the same level.

U guys can't hear it but the fv15hp makes a a greater presence and shakes the room much more at the exact same db level. Its hard to explain

Thanks for doing this again. Much appreciated.

In your statement above, was that with both FV15HPs playing or just one? And if you had to pick between having just one FV15HP or two LV12rs, which would you pick?

Well just one fv still sounds boulder, deeper and has more layers than the lv12r. Even when playing the same material.

The lv12r by nature actualyy souds a little more punchy is the best I can describe it.

That's a tough decision .. I'd go for 1 fv15hp only because I believed in going big now and adding in the future. But if I couldn't ever add... hmmm prolly dual lv12r

Thanks for sharing! I read your other comment about things rattling even though both subs had played at the same volume/db. I wonder if its because the FV15HP digs deeper so it has more "depth" or layers as you describe. Either way I'm hearing that the FV15HP is "sonically" the better performer.

Ya I think your probly right.

I have tried the fv in 2 port 20hz mode. And the lv12r in 20 hz mode as well.

Even with similar settings the fv still sounds "deeper" not necessarily lower but deeper is how I would personally describe it.

Also the lv12r and the fv both sound great with music but things like rap or dub step really come alive with the fv.

This might explain what you're experiencing. Even though both subs are hitting the same frequencies, they're not doing so with the same authority and the FV15HP has much more output in the lower octave than that LV12R so the FV15HP is going sound beefier. The short version, the FV15HP sounds beefier, because it is. tongue.gif

Right I'm saying that not only at the same feqs but at the same db level as well.

It might be an attribute of the 15vs the 12 paper vs aluminum cone. Who knows lol

Well said. Although we don't apply the term to subs very often, I think of subs as having a sound stage. Some are very narrow and others are more enveloping. Obviously I'm not picking out instruments in the low frequencies but the general notion of depth and width of sound I think is there. .

To be encouraging, the FV15HP hits lower and with more authority at the different frequencies as you're putting a 12" driver up against a 15" driver.

(and you have two of em)

...tongue.gif

Sounds like a fair fight to me.

Lol yeah not a fair fight bat all!

I figured it would be a cool comparison for ppl trying decide if they want the lv12r or need step up to the fv15hp. Well once I make some better videos anyway.

Blackmammbakilla has some killer vids of his triaxes hitting 140 dbs and shaking his house apart. There awasome
