Have now, two SubM HP's.

If I were to design a money-no-object purpose built theater, I'd probably go with a crazy infinite baffle. Divided room-within-a-room for the IB (or dig a sub-basement) having an exit at catercorner 1/4 wave points of each wall. So, four exits total, each with an opposed manifold having 8 of those 24" SI drivers (4x2). That should be pretty sick, 32 24" drivers in IB -- think I'd never need to upgrade, lol. Of course, the room would probably be large, and I'd spend all my other pennies sealing it off from the world as best as possible to contain every bit of that bass pressure, lol.

I would do 4 PSA Triax's. This would be for my bonus room above the garage which is currently unfinished. The plan is for it to be a dedicated theater room in about 5 years. The room would be sealed and 14' X 22' X 8' but with the angled ceiling down to about 4' high.

My room can only accommodate two JTR S1's... I believe structurally it's a bit too much, as I do have various drywall and foundation cracks.

I already have 3 SubMersive HP's and I'm really happy with them...but I would like to see what Nathan Funk could do for me if money was no object. I have always admired his designs.

I currently have(enroute), a PSA XS30.

Cost no object, with what I know now, I would possibly opt for a pair of Seaton Submersives in a dark espresso finish.

Velodyne DD15+, finished in ebony.

Current sub-woofer is Rythmik F12SE with A370PEQ3 amplifier.

A dozen or more LMS5400, sealed and with lots of QA4004 amps to drive them and a sufficiency of DSP and placed carefully to smooth response.
However, as I already have 56 litres of swept displacement, I'll stick with what I have and be happy for the time being.

3 Inuke NU4-6000 amps for all speakers.
Speakers- 7 Behringer B215XL's, 4 212xl's for ceiling speakers.

Rear subs 2 XXX ported SLLT powered by IPR2-7500.

I am suprised you did not go with the 24's from the get go being that was your initial choice. smile.gif

A DAC isn't an amp. Although the general info is that modern DACs are far more similar than different. I think the Yamaha's DAC is perfectly adequate as is the avr (and its amp) for whatever speakers and subs the user wants to use with them. There may be something down the line that can make upgrading the processor/amp worthwhile, though.

I wanted to get the 24's but they are just coming out now and I did not wait for them as I have enjoyed my drivers for a while now. I have the equivalent of almost 4 24's now for $800 less.

I would not mind upgrading now to get XT32 and sub eq ability, but still going to work on a way to eq subs without spending over $1k on an AVR that will no longer fit in my custom built in bookshelves, which will then require completely relocating all my equipment into a rack.  It doesn't have a ton of power, but it will still go a lot louder than I ever listen. :)

Hey Bear....glad you're enjoying the XS30....iif money were no object as being mentioned several times in this thread already the Funk Audio 18.0 with real wood inlays with 1" round over edges & curved back cabinet. I'd get it custom custom finishes to boot & match my mains

So yeah....there is NO question in mind it would be the best performing sub given its size and the best looking too.! Choosing not to go back with another Funk was a difficult decision for me with and thus far...no regrets... but I know what my next sub upgrade will be....smile.gif

If you think bashing other peoples equipment is going to get people to like you, I would venture to say you are wrong.  This is poor taste, and definitely not in line with how this community works.  I have seen many members going back and forth with debates about various audio subjects, but this is childish.

Actually Yamaha builds some quality AVR's....just because they do not use Audyssey means very little. There is plenty of external options that are as good if not better for sub eq.

If I had these it would be a two channel only system.
I have a friend with a pr. of the Stellas with all the right supporting gear plus $40k of engineered room treatments and they sound absolutely amazing.

So MK, it looks like most of your subs will be directly behind the screen when it is down.  Does this cause any issues with moving the screen?

Racks cool equipment better than bookshelves and your gear will last longer is one positive there. A low cost and small formfactor outboard eq is something like the miniDSP. You can spend less than $1k and get Audyssey XT32, too: http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/onktxnr818/onkyo-tx-nr818-7.2-ch-thx-certified-network-a/v-receiver/1.html

WOW so many good choices but hands down 2 Sub2's from paradigm or and I say or because i never heard of Power Sound Audio Triax. These look like they would be awesome, the specs are great Comparison_Mini_Chart_TriaxJPEG.jpg 27k .jpg file

Does anyone have these or heard them before? I am looking to add a second sub, so far I cannot fnd another sub25. The sub2 is out of reach i would say, but the triax is intriging
