Episode ES-SUB-EVO10-200-BLK

I'm interested in the Episode Evolution 10 subwoofer but it is so new I can't find very much information on it. The other non-Evolution models are being phased out. Does anyone have any experience with this subwoofer, any other Episode subwoofers, or Episode in general?

How would it compare against something like the SVS PB-1000, HSU VTF-2 MK4, Rythmik LV12R, etc?

Thanks

The 5(?) pound driver motor, and 25 pound overall weight certainly don't impress.

And when you see stuff like this >>> An efficient DRiVE™ digital amplifier is combined with LFEQ Technology – Episode’s exclusive dual equalization circuitry – to deliver extended bass response with more output than anything in its class<<<

Ummm, okay.

I think you'll be much happier with the vtf-2.

"Engineered from top-shelf components, this sub features a custom driver with a woven fiberglass cone, Nomex spider and high-temperature voice coil. This rigid, lightweight design produces tight, low distortion that’s simply unmatched."

I know I like my distortion tight so I may have to pick one up

Seriously, it appears cheaply made. The driver with its ribbed surround looks like a cheesy low-end car subwoofer.

I was looking for a small sub for my PC Desktop system. I found a great deal on the Episode Evolution ES-SUB-EVO6-100.

This is a six inch sub with a real small footprint - - W 8.0 x H 8.1 x D 9.1

It has RCA Inputs and was being used in a Home Theater setup. It rocks - - great thumping sound out of a small enclosure. Really nice. It doesn't beat my larger Velodyne in my HT setup but it's a great bang for the buck.

Especially if you are space challenged. Can't go wrong. I don't know what is out there that compares in this price range and size. Recommended.

Home Theater Setup
Samsung UN65ES8000 LCD/LED & BenQ W1080ST & Vizio M43C1
Pioneer SC65 (Pre-Amp) & Emotive XPA-3, 200 WPC
OPPO 103, Comcast Infinity X1, Darbee Darblet
ALL Paradigm - 7.1 - Studio 60's, V.2 (FL/FR) CC-690, V.5 (C)
ADP 590 V.5 (SS), MilleniaOne 2.0 (BS) - Velodyne 810 Sub

I have the 12" Episode Evo (upgrade from the 8" Paradigm sub). The reproduction is supremely tight, and we've had to nail a few more things to the walls because it's an earthquake.
We broke it in with the new Mad Max: Fury Road, and it was a thrill.

By my experience, you can do far worse than this one.

Stage 1: Anthem MRX 300 7.1 AVR; Definitive Technology CS 8060HD Center; Def Tech BP7006 Towers R&L; Paradigm Cinema CT100 Surround Speakers; Paradigm 8" Cinema Subwoofer; Episode® Evolution 12" Powered Subwoofer
< Stage 2: Vizio 54" 5.1 Soundbar. Amazing.
