I would like to hear your guys opinion on 4 subwoofers. I already have 2 pb13 in each of the front corners of my HTC and was wondering if you guys think I should do 2 more in the back corner? How much more output do you think I will get? Thanks

If you stack the 2 new subs on top of the subs you have you will get 6 more db's which is significant.

If you put them in the back of the room you won't get a lot more output but you could get a better/smoother frequency response. What is your goal, more output or smoother bass?

Oh, I forgot to mention...

If your seating area is really close to where you put the subs in the back of the room you could get a much more tactile response/feel from the subs. If I were you I would try one of your subs in the back of the room and see what you think.

Have you tried opposite corners yet?

What are your goals?

YES! More subs is always a good thing.

Yes I have tried multiple placements and the best sound I got was in the each of the front corners. As far my goals I don't really have one. I just bored and thought they maybe 4 woofers would give me more bass and if course more even bass through out the room.

"Another" selling point would be increased headroom
Go for it!

Four subs is often the optimal number for the smoothest frequency response throughout a room. Doubling your subs will add 6 dB of headroom, and as mentioned, if they are closer to your seating it can increase the tactile feel you get.

So I don't think it would be a bad idea by any means, although if I were you, I would also consider going to JTR Captivator 2400's or Orbit Shifter LFU's.

No. Buy 300 PB Ultra 13's, and fill your room entirely with subwoofers.

Someone is not a big fan of multiples. Be sure to never measure your room.

Hi Paul,

At this stage of the game, I'd consider room treatments before I buy more subwoofers. 2 Ultra's should provide more than enough bass. Plus, do your Def Tech towers have active subs built in?

Let's see some pics of your HT, I'd like to see the room. Is there carpeting or just hardwood? ....A picture is worth a thousand words..
