adding second subwoofer

I'm in need of advice.I'm wanting to add a second sub to my onkyo tx-sr707. My existing sub is a bic v-1220.I'M wanting to a bic f12 as my second sub.The v1220 is downfiring and the f12 is front firing will these work together well or will I have problems pairing them together.Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For what it's worth, I use a side firing sub and a top firing sub and they work well together.

The fact that they fire in different directions is irrelevant, sub frequencies radiate equally in all directions regardless of driver orientation.

That being said, when going for multiple subs identical is always best.
