Looking to buy a new subwoofer

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a VTF-2 MK4, as the Polk sub is alright but I'd like better now that I have the money. I have a Denon AVR 2113-CI. I'm wondering if there is anything comparable to the performance of the VTF-2 MK4 for cheaper/on sale, or would it be worth it to even build my own sub (not that I have experience with doing such a thing)? Room size is unrelated, I'm sure the sub would be more than enough for my current room, but I can always reduce the gain. Any help/info is appreciated.

Room size is unrelated? Uh, okay. Sure, DIY will give you more bang for the buck. Check out the DIY section and go for it.

Well the room size to me doesn't matter because either way a big sub will hit lower frequencies and also they fill bigger rooms. So i'd rather buy the better sounding sub, which will future proof me too. I will check out the tutorials, thanks for the info

You just missed the Outlaw LFM-1 EX sale for 599.00, that would of been a better deal. The VTF-2 is a nice sub, I like it better then the VTF-3 just because itnis downfiring and offers more placement options.
