Outlaw LFM-1 EX or Rythmik LV12R? Which is the better overall sub?

I have the Outlaw LFM-1 Plus, which I like. I'm in the market for a second sub for a different room, with these two being possibles. The Outlaw isn't on sale, but if I get the EX, I'll wait for it to drop to $599 shipped again. The Rythmik is currently $569 until the 15th.

Room is about 27'x11.5'. 6' 6"-8' 6" sloping ceiling.

It'll be awhile before the Outlaw is on sale again. I would go for the Rythmik if you really want the sub anytime soon.

Well I can wait a while, no real rush. I'm really wanting to keep the price under 600 bones if at all possible. Just wanted to know some opinions on which is the best overall sub.

The Outlaw is the better sub IMO. It will probably go on sale again during Black Friday.

The HSU VTF-3 MK4 is currently on sale for $738 shipped. Looks like it has more tuning options than the Outlaw, but is it worth $138 more and is it a better performing sub overall?

It's a better sub, but $138 better is something you would have to judge for yourself. I have some VTF3 mk3s and some Outlaw EXs. The Hsus are better, sure. I wouldn't say they get louder, but they have cleaner deep bass when pushed. Their finish is a bit nicer. The Outlaws have a nice plexiglass top on them. Personally I would go for the Hsu, mainly because you will be waiting months for the Outlaw to go back on sale. Don't go that long without enjoying nice punchy bass, because that time has to be viewed as a cost as well.

The VTF-3 MK4 is worth another $138 IMO.

If you already have 1 outlaw, get the ex. Running two the same model is a better option

Two of the same isn't really a priority. As I mentioned, these subs would be in different rooms.

The Plus by Outlaw is more beastly sub than the LV12r. I owned both once upon a time and even though the LV12r is a nice sub, its not a great performer as the Plus. I say the Lv12r is close to the little brother of the Plus by Outlaw

I have strong shoulders and neck due to recoil.

My mistake, I was thinking of the EX (not the Plus). So the plus is comparable to the Lv12r... but EX is more beastly subwoofer. .

* Note : didn't drink my coffee yet

It happens The EX is definitely a beast. I still miss mine to this day as it was my first real subwoofer.

I have an EX and a plus. I can't find much difference between them. Obviously the EX has a little bigger enclosure and can dig a little deeper and louder, but I doubt I could pick one over the other in a blind test. I don't think it's worth an extra $100. Maybe and extra $50. I would wait until the plus is on sale for $499 and get that.

Good to hear that from an owner of both. I had wondered just how much louder/lower the EX would sound over the Plus. They both use the same woofer, amp and configuration, with the EX cabinet being a little larger. I also really like the design of the driver and ports all being down-firing, which makes it easy to place just about anywhere that allows the space for the sub itself.

The EX has 3db more headroom and 2-3hz deeper extension. I would say that is easily worth the extra 100.00.
