audyssey level calibration bypasses eq?

I was messing around with REW and built in integra pink noise when I noticed that it bypasses the EQ done and it takes the peak I have at 40ish hertz instead of the flat response which in my case is about 6 db and after calibration I originally bumped it up 6 db thinking I was running it 6 db hot but instead im flat even though im at 81dbc sub trim with .

has Anyone else noticed this?

Yep. Often discussed for half a decade or so around here. Check out the Audyssey FAQs in the Audyssey thread.

and it's not the Audyssey level calibration, it's, as you say in your text, the Integra internal tones. AFAIK, every receiver and prepro in the world acts the same . . . . Assuming you ran Audyssey you should have noticed a striking difference between the Audyssey "chirps" and the pink noise channel level tones in the Integra. The workaround, if you think you need one, is to get a test disc and use its channel calibration sounds, so that they go through the Audyssey filters . . .
