exactly. as i have been for the past 25 years. the SPL rig was only built because 1. we had an extra van. and 2, i had a 5 of these 14,500 watt RMS amps laying around, and sixteen 12 inch drivers. the whole thing got sold, van and all... for less money than i have in SQ equipment.

there is an excessive amount of stupid equipment in my shop... both home and car stuff.

Well, I think I'll skip the Outlaw for now. They generally have a few sales a year so I'll see if it comes on sale again along with keeping an eye on the Cap 1400 and PSA V1801.

I have 2 very nice Emotiva Amps and you couldn't pay me to take one of their subs simply cause of them being the same brand. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry after i heard that statement.:.
Maybe laughing so hard i cried is more like it.

I just saw that you have some 803D B&W, maybe its just me, but i would not even entertain Outlaw amps to push those bad boys. I would much rather the likes of a Classe or the likes w/ the lower THD.

Dedicated Theater Room / 7.2.4 (ATMOS upcoming)
Epson 6040UB Professionally Calibrated; Screen Innovations 133" 2.35 Cinemascope
Panamax M5400-PM Surge Protector; Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray Player
Emotiva XMC1 preamp, Emotiva Gen 3 Amp (3-channel), Emotiva Gen 3 Amp (4-channel)
Polk Audio RTIA9 towers, CSIA6 center, FXIA6 surrounds
Dual JTR Cap 1400s Black Oak (2017 Versions)

I don't buy into the whole thing that amps make a huge difference, a well designed amp should add nothing to the signal except for gain, and looking at the test data for the Outlaw it performs damn well, way above it's price range.

true to a point. i can design and scratch build a budget amp in one day with crappy parts that will sound spectacular... but...

the biggest difference in amps, is longevity and reliability. with the influx of China and Korea made parts, there are often examples of amps, that if tested 5+ years into their lifespan, they wont even resemble the specs that it had when you purchased it. for that matter, if it even lasts 5+ years... while most will, there has been countless times that someone has replaced a 10 year old amp with a much lower quality amp, and have noticed a sound improvement... granted, the new low quality amp may not last long, but it is better than the worn out amp.

with no names mentioned, i can tell you some come here much more often and much sooner than others. they may test and spec great when they are new, but sometimes that does not mean much as they age.

I have been talk to Mark Seaton and I am pretty sure I will be going with the Seaton Sound MFW-15 Turbo SS for my system. The price/performance just can't be beat from what I see.

I will say I am very excited, I know the Captivator 1400 or S1 were kind of dream subs, but at over twice the shipped price and in my small room the MFW will slam, and it was really my first sub I wanted for my setup.

How has your experience been with the Seaton Sound MFW-15 Turbo-SS?!

I've had it for over six months and just love it!
