I just redid my theater system that now consists of a pioneer elite sclx701 receiver, deftec bp-8060's up front a deftec mythos 10 center and deftec bp-8040's for rear surrounds.
The subs from my previous setup remain, for now (replacing them in the next few weeks). Those are both klipsch and both 12's. One reference series (12rd I think), the other is the synergy series. They are connected individually to their own LFE on the receiver as this receiver has two LFE/Sub's out. The 8060's and 8040's subs are connected via regular speaker wire (though, quality wire) so they are using the builtin amp and crossover in the tower.
I will be replacing the subs with one deftec supercube 8000. I am a bit of a bass head (hence the two 12's) and with those two 12's I have no shortage of bass; they will and do shake the entire home. But, besides wanting more precise, clean and accurate bass via a matched (to my towers) high end sub, I am also replacing them because neither 12 can get below 24hz and the sc 8000 can get down to 12hz.
Question is, will I be losing a lot (any?) of that low end house shaking rumbling bass in movies etc? Doing it regardless, just not sure what to expect.
Thanks in advance!
