A sealed 18 directly behind my seat.....like almost sitting inside the cone close fixed that.....needless to say, the second 18 is on the way.......not sure what max db at single digits is for one 18, but with it soo close, it has to lower the needed DB a bit....

Been there too,

I had 4 ported subs for 8 years,
Two 15" Velodynes sitting directly behind my MLP
But limited to ~18-20Hz (2000w peak each)

Which is great for most action movies,
For the real deep stuff though, my room didn't get that wobbly pressure "feeling" like your underwater
until it got all Funk'd Up

DIY Flat Packs and 18" drivers are the best way to get to single digits on a budget,
...or even cheaper, just add some Tactile Transducers from Buttkicker or Crowsons to your seating.

Yep. One of the benefits of using a driver that works well in an IB.

I found for me, that adding the recommended HP really killed the output in its sweet spot, so I went much lower than usual. (I think 12hz, is where my roll off starts and is very steep for safety reasons.). I want to add 2 more sealed nearfield to really get it on!

It does not matter the design, whatever your sub extends to in room another sub or a dozen won't give you more extension, just louder at the same extension.

True enough, that's just a vibration on your seat,
no where near the same as feeling ULF pressure on your entire body

THAT s#it;s addictive!

I want two more 18's now and may just go DIY since they will be hidden behind my MLP.

Hey, subacbra

Don't know if you're aware, but out of those 3 4K UHDs you have, only Blade Runner is real 4K. When I found about this site, it shocked me, too! Because of this, I'm returning my unopened Wonder Woman 4K UHD Steelbook to Best Buy when it arrives.

Here are my Subs response at LP with no EQ
My mic drops off at 10hz and known to be down 10-15 dB at 5hz. I am most likely flat to 5 hz. Yes, this is ported.

Oh I was there just over a year ago, single unit was a double deep cross stacked hot mess...

I finally went to IKEA and picked up 3 new units for $38 ea.

Fixed the original mess to a single layer deep, and expanded the rest into my storage room just behind

No IKEA???

Other than my powered recliners (and electronic gear)
almost everything in my room came from IKEA, right down to the lighting.
(under $1k from empty unfinished basement to make-shift man-cave)
...saved my money for the expensive toys

The Kallax units were the perfect size for my Single Malt Scotch collection
(also the exact size for LP's if you're into Vinyl)

Spoiler!
