Mono amp for transducers?

Since they are essentially subs i thought that a mono amp would be ideal for them. I was looking at 2 50 amp 4 ohm units.

Since my TV only has optical i plan on getting an optical splitter as i have a surround bar. Then i would probably need to get a digital to analog converter. I will be mounting the transducers onto my bed, its a fully adjustable steel frame, its where i spend most of my time due to my fibromyalgia.

4 ohms might be tough on some amps but there are plenty that can handle it. It does narrow your choices. You might be better off (cost wise) with a stereo amp. I see no advantage to going with mono amps. Plenty of good choices either way on eBay. Don't know your budget, but there are even some Crown amps for reasonable Buy It Now prices.

The Behringer INuke DSP series is the best cost/performance ratio for TTs IMO. They are 2Ω stable (4Ω stable bridged) and the built in DSP is great. The NU1000DSP lists for $199.

I also suffer from Fibro [among other things] BTW. I put subs under the bed, Acoustic Research FPS-10.

Interesting, i understand the DSP portion makes it into a sub amp. Weird connectors too at least to me, found the amp on amazon used for about $180 with tax. Might have to give this a try. I will also look into that sub, its pretty old so should be able to grab it cheap.

The adjustable bed works great for disabilities got it on ebay for about 50% off. I have mine at an incline which is perfect for TV.
