HT upgrade, subs included, Help me decide.

I just upgraded my OLD receiver (Denon AVR-3802) to a Denon AVR-X6300h so i could move from 7.1 to 7.1.4.
My living room/kitchen/dining room is one large area measuring 35' deep x 25' wide on the end where the screen is, and 32' wide at the rear (dining room extends off kitchen) with 8' ceilings. The island bar in the kitchen is about 12' off the rear wall (when viewing the screen) and is where my rear surrounds are mounted. This makes the living room/ ht area roughly 25' wide x 25' deep. (i may post a layout tomorrow for clarification).

My speakers are:
Center: Paradigm CC-370
Mains: Paradigm Monitor 5
Side: Paradigm ADP-170 (will possibly be changing now that i am moving to atmos, but that is another thread)
Rear: Klipsch RB15
Atmos: Polk VT60 x 4
Sub: Paradigm PW-2200

So this brings me to the point of this post, i definitely want to go to dual subs since the room tends to have a few dead spots. I have been very happy with my PW-2200 and can pick up another (used) for about $300. Another thought i had is to head over to the DIY section and make good use of 4 Alpine type R subs i have laying around. I could pickup a decent rack mount amp for what i would send on the used PW-2200.

I spent many years as a mobile audio installer and box builder while in college, so i know i can handle the cabinet building. Are there any other options i am leaving out the decidion?

Not for $300. I'd go with the DIY option.

Are you saying that a used PW-2200 isn't worth $300, or i wouldn't be able to find one for that price?

I'm saying that aside from the two options you listed (PW-2200 or external amp for DIY) there are no other options for ~$300. None worth seriously considering, anyway.

IMO only, of course. YMMV.

You will need a few DYI subs to fill a space that big, or multiple PW-2200's..
Think that DYI is your best option here.
