Sub for around 4000 cubic feet family room.

Looking to upgrade or add to my old paradigm pw-2200 our theater/family room is around 4000 cubic feet i don't have the funds to fully pressurize the space.. Dont know if I should ditch my paradigm and purchase say a sb-2000 or Hsu and latter add a second of the same model or just pair it with my old pw-2200 budget around 1k

Thanks for any recommendations

the well respected psa v1500 (725w rms and low as 16hz ) then just use the paradigm in near field setting or remove it from the system

+1 to the V1500. Other options at ~$1K include:
- HSU VTF-15H MK2 ($899 + $169 shipping = $1,068);
- HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP ($799 + $93 shipping = $892); and
- Rythmik FVX15 ($1,029, shipped).

If you are on a budget, keep an eye out in the Outlet sections of these companies mentioned above. You might save 1-200.00 that way and still get a warrantied product.

I will definitely be watching the PSA outlet. I almost pulled the trigger on a pb-2000 last weekend due to the labor day sale.. The PSA will eat the 2000 for breakfast by the specs

There is a V1801 in the outlet for about $250 more than your budget but an outstanding sub.
