Okay can some one explain the sound difference between the SVS PB2000 & PC2000 I'm looking to to move my Klipsch Sub12 to the back by the couch & add either PB2000 or PC2000. I'm 85% movies/Blu-Rays & 15% music.

Looking to buy a SVS PB12+ Option 2 is Rythmik FV15HP-

The SVS PB12 I can pick up for like new under 1100$ with gloss black finish, the FV15HP would run me around $1700 in the gloss black. I know the FV15HP has more output, but I don't see myself leveraging the additional DB's my room size is under 2500.

My question here is not to compare the two- but to hear from some owners of the PB12+ what do you like or dislike?

There is nothing I don't like about the PB12+. Having tried the PB2000 and dual SB2000's, the PB12+ is just what I was after. Plenty of low end grunt, ability to select a tune based on 16hz, 20hz or sealed. Fine tune even further from the sub level, with the parametric EQ based on my room acoustics weeding out peaks that cause boominess...and I've only scratched the surface of it's capabilities. My room is nearly 4000 cuft opening into a kitchen and vaulted ceiling. After fine tuning it, it completely disappears into the room, I really like it.

I find that even though I don't listen to much music with it, that it does a better job of it than the PB2000 by being a little tighter...enough to notice.

I've never been more satisfied with dual PB12+'s. Music and movies are quite satisfying and they've taken everything I've thrown at them the past 2+ years I've had them. If you haven't already, I highly recommend a good mic to use with REW to properly EQ your sub(s) once in your setup.

Do you know tho if there is even a difference in the pb13 ultra to a plus besides the driver size and 200 more rms watts.Because i am a about hopefully 7 to 12 weeks away from buying my pb13 ultra.

Official SVS Owners/Support Thread.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help in setting up the sub. (Couple pages back, I've been busy finishing the basement/theatre)

I have a door to the laundry room about 15 ft to the left of the couch, my wife put a "laundry room" sign hanging on the door... It rattles sometimes when there is intense bass. I will 100% fix the issue but I'm taking my time as I feel it's a testament to this sub lol.

I'll be adding a second PB1000 over the summer, thats so my neighbours can enjoy the movie too

Here are a few pics

I would ask Ed Mullen (@SVS) that question directly. There's no one better qualified to answer that question than him. I will say this... I own 3 Ultras and I can say with certainty, my subwoofage journey is finally over.

SVS will tell you, the difference is exactly what the numbers leads you to believe. The plus is about 80% of the capability of the Ultra. The slightly larger cone and higher xmax allows the ultra to dig a few hz lower.

What you have to ask yourself is, are you the type to constantly ask yourself "what if?" if you go with the plus?

I would say yes for both rooms, one Ultra would pound away with authority. I would even say the SB13-Ultra in that 9x11x8 would give you plenty of bass.

The PB13 driver is not better than the SB13 driver. They are both equivalent in terms of quality. The PB13 driver is optimal for the PB13. The SB13 driver is optimal for the SB13. They are both equivalent flagship designs...one ported, one sealed.

For your smaller room, I'd get the SB.

The PB is massive. If you really want the ported model, get the cylinder. That fits into a small room.

The PB is the size of a cloths chest.

My sub is 4 years old but Ed has extended the warranty for me. They are sending me a new amp for free I just need to cover shipping.
If that doesnt work Ed has already agreed to send me a new woofer also covered by warranty. Only thing is that i need to pay for shipping to China and shipping the broken woofer back to USA for inspection.
This might cost me more than the value of the subwoofer.. So I'll have to check pricing etc, it might be cheaper to just buy a new one here in China ( here its 4000$)

Lets see what happens when I get the new AMP. Maybe I connected the battery and AVR incorrectly testing the woofer ( highly unlikely )

I have also received instructions on how to use 1/4-20 threads to lift the woofer to check if any wires are burnt etc and send some pictures to SVS for review...

Im in good hand and can only say great things about SVS despite having lost my TANK of a subwoofer.

So the impossible happened.. AMP is dead and WOOFER is dead.... AMP died with the voicecoil burnt...

SVS are very gratious and have sent me a new amp and will send me a new woofer also... I cannot believe the level of service these guys have... Apparently this never happened to them before but now it has... I dont understand how I was able to play them so hard the subwoofer actually broke.. All my other speakers and subs works just fine so I have a feeling that it could be something with my PB13U and not really the music I played.. Maybe just pure bad luck..

But again all my respect out to the SVS team. These guys have given me SOOOOO much already.. Fantastic guys really!!!

Possible a power surge when the amp died burned the coil. Unlikely, but it happens all the time with computer parts.

I am glad svs is helping you out and replacing both the amp and the driver. When the time come stake some pics of both the driver and amp and take some pics of your old driver to see if we can see any burned out marks .This is a first time ever that i seen someone or heard someone pop both a svs amp and driver at the same time. But yes anything is possible. However if you don't mind me asking what levels were you playing the svs PB13 Ultra on.what were the db WHEN IT FAILED.If you can remember.
