Fixed!

That being said I have really been enjoying my 499.00 PC12NSD in my 2.1 garage system. Very clean bass and I love the cylinder/down firing design. I measured 113-115db peaks from 8ft away in the 40-80hz region....which is more then enough output for the garage.

If you ran Audyssey and it came up with your sub at -12, then you need to adjust your sub gain and re-run Audyssey. -12 could actually be something like -20, as -12 is where the range ends. You want Audyssey to preferably come up with something in the range of say -7 to 0, or very close. After that you can bump it up (run it hot) as many do. Bumping up 5 or 6dB (even more for some) is fairly common practice with quite a few people.

Dynamic EQ is indeed an option you get at the end of using the Audyssey calibration. You can go in the settings and turn it on/off anytime you want when Audyssey is enabled, regardless of if you chose to not set it on right after Audyssey was finished . You should try it out and see if you like it or not.

If your AVR uses Audyssey then it's recommended that you increase the sub level thru the AVR after completing Audyssey.

Awesome video of your new sub!

Watching you wrestle with it made me worry you might get a hernia or pull something! 😉

Now you get to do the subwoofer crawl with it! Woohoo!

AVR amp as you never know how many dB exactly are you gaining by turning that know on the sub.

According to Ed, and this is as far back as the middle of last year, we Canadians are supposed to get an outlet as well. Matter of fact, when I go to the outlet page, all I see is this

Quote:
Our outlet specials offer huge savings on gently-used speakers and subwoofers. All outlet special products are guaranteed to look and perform like-new (unless otherwise specified below) and carry our full 5 year Unconditional Warranty and complete Bill of Rights coverage.

SVS Outlet specials are available for US customers. Look for our Canadian Outlet store coming soon!

I don't see a listing of speakers and subs, all I get is "coming soon"

The reality is the Canadian dollar isn't doing so well again. A pair of ultra bookshelves now are 1200 + tax.

When I bought my PB-2k back in October I paid $940 tax included, shipped, etc. Now it's $960 + tax.
The PB13 ultra is almost 3grand!

So we Canucks could use a little savings, and the outlet would do that.

True, it is a flagship sub after all, for all other subs that just have etchings/lines or nothing by the gain knob the AVR would be the place to go for accurate gain control.

Change is the only constant.

Aaah! The small pleasures in life! I can still remember the first time my pb13 and I met. It was cold winter day, but the pb13 put warmth in my heart. The Kremlin explosion in ghost protocol, the hovering of the bat mobile in dark knight rises, captain America winter soldier. Touching moments indeed.... I cannot forget how gently the server room scene from pulse created an electrifying feeling to my balls! It felt like kissing for the first time!

Your unboxing video was very entertaining. Your reaction early in the vid to how large the box was reminded me of my girlfriend's (later to be wife) reaction the first time we got busy. I do have to knock off man-card points, as you were doing great......up until you broke out the blu-ray movies. Titanic lost you some man-card points, bro. Anyway, enjoy the monster sub and give that clown next door something he can hear for a change.

just ordered a pb-2000 to go with a pb-2000 that ive had for about 5 months. Was contemplating a Hsu VTF-15H Mk2 but honestly svs has given me no reason to stray and i never listen at reference.(was told at -17 differences between the two were minimal. A single pb 2000 was damn near overkill....i CAN NOT wait to see what duals does during cloverfield.

The Hsu is highly regarded but like yourself, I've had no reason to look elsewhere. I've been perfectly satisfied with my PB-2000's for 90% movies in a 4800 cf room. With dual's you will gain smoother FR and improved headroom. The extra headroom will allow you to run the subs even hotter to your liking. After Cloverfield...try the classics....Sever Room scene in Pulse, WOTW's Pod emergence, and FOTP crash scene, etc. Enjoy!!!
