The SVS Ultra-13 will be front firing, just like the new NSD's, and the ports will be located in the front as well. I will post a file with more info soon. They will be packaged initially with the new outboard EQ system AS-EQ1, which is a two channel version of the Audyssey MultiEQx Pro, specifically taylored for the LFE channel. VERY competitively priced, and will be an excellent budget option over the SMS-1:

Wow, look at that thing...very cool.

Is it just me, or do those new Wharfdales look like someone pulled a Mission Impossible/Watergate Hotel style break-in at Kef headquarters?

The previous post may contain spoilers, which will make the post less aerodynamic and increase handling at high speeds.

Sorry for the short reply...limited access

J, thanks for the mirror...I updated it.

Peter, I will try to make it there this afternoon....Lots of things to do this last day, but I'll certainly try to stop by and see the folks at T.H.E. Show. and YES, this year's CES was a dissappointment for me in many ways:
* Venue locations spread out in the most inconvinient locations
* Keynote and techzones within minutes of each other but at completely different venues!
* no real WOW products with the exception of one here and there. I mean, how many mp3 players, plasmas, vacuum tube amps, cell phones, and crap can I see?

anyways....I think I will take a hiatus from CES for a couple of years....

Hi guys, the new Ultras will be available without the as-eq1. We don't have a final release date(or pricing) on the EQ1 yet. I'm hoping we can offer both(release dates/pricing---not begin shipping product) within 60 days.

Both single driver Ultras will ship in late 1st quarter/07 or 2nd quarter/07...pricing will be finalized very soon for those.

Thanks, Tom. I appreciate being able to just buy the subs, as I have quite a bit of EQ already.

Are you far enough along with the single cabinets yet to make comparison with the single driver TV-12 Ultras?

How do you guys think Polks New Subs will fare?

I know their current series of subs are not upto par in comparison to SVS and HSU.

From:
http://www.soundstage2.com/lasvegas2...y_jan09_1.html

Polk Audio will be introducing ten (!) new subwoofers in 2007, including the four DSW MicroPRO models shown here. They will be available in July and will cost from $950 to $1780. All have 1200W BASH amplifiers and square bottom-mounted passive radiators that take full advantage of the compact enclosures. The three most expensive models use Polk's AutoPRO feature, which, unlike most room-correction systems that use simple response equalization, preserves the dynamics and transient response acoustically by adding an interference signal to cancel out the room anomalies.

Those subs look beautiful. The features are impressive too. Thanks for posting this. I knew there have to be more than two companies that know how to make subwoofers.

The new design will offer (about)4.5 to 6dB more clean output(or approx the same as two of the older models), smoother response, better feature set, and will be only slightly larger(about 5% larger).

Thanks for the update and clearing up whether there would be a potential pairing of the Ultra-13 & AS-EQ1 combo on initial release or not. I'm very excited about both of these ground-breaking products and eagerly await their upcoming release. In the meantime, any info crumbs will be greatly appreciated.

Impressive to say the least! One new Ultra delivering up to 6dB more over the great TV12 is outstanding.

Ask yourself mortal , do you have as much displacement as me ? The answer is no unless you have a Windmere fan sub.

Tom,

Im glad to see you still post her aside from all the Trolls lurking around here that might keep you away..

But there are many of us here at AVS that appreciate SVS's active support regarding their products..

Can you give us any info crumbs on the dual driver cabinet? Would to know increased output gain compared to the old dual driver cabinet..

Im looking forward to the dual driver cabinet. In fact, I put off buying the F113 until the new Dual Ultra13 is reviewed. However, I know its a 'Long' wait until Q3 of 07 so any info you give me will give more peace of mind.... I can only buy one Sub (in this price range) and want to make sure I do it right the first time even if it means waiting a little... PM me if needed. ..

Last revision of the new PB13Ultra/2 was 6-8dB ahead of the current ultra/2(about the same as 2.5 of the current ultra/2s). Still a work in progress though. We should have a better idea if that is as good as it will get within 45-60 days.

That's some serious gain I also notice the /2 is coming in more proportional to what one would expect from the dual drivers ...nice job Tom. Having have owned so many SVS offerings, the new Ultra13 products seem to be quite a leap forward from a already stellar product. I really like the orientation of the ports corresponding with the driver.

I am just wondering what the driver/enclosure orientation will be for the Ultra/2. Will they be stacked in the front, push/pull, etc.??

Also, I am wondering if Tom can give us some idea of what the dimensions will be. They have the potential of being a deal breaker for some. The old/current Ultra/2 is not overly large, but a couple of inches in the wrong direction could ruin it for me.... So, it would be nice to know if it is worth waiting for the new Ultra/2.
