At that price, buy them both, and do not delay. $500 for two VTF3 mk3s is an outstanding deal.

He is probably referring to the older maple finish.

another HSU owner VTF-3 MK2 amplifier failed. barely any output when connected.

contacted HSU and the response was
"order the VTF-3 MK4 amp for it. That runs $235 plus $25 S/H or upgrade to our current subs"

I will remove the dead amp to see anything obvious and replace any caps that's look bad....if doesn't work I will order the new amp from HSU and should be good for another ~10 years

Anyone every co locate VTF15's. Kinda interested in trying an experiment, but I'd have to stack... Kinda curious about the 3db gain vs the 6db gain.

This could be fun...

Current setup:

Panasonic 65" VT50 / Oppo 103D
Marantz AV7702 / Outlaw Model 7500
Klipsch RF7II (2) and RC64II / Hsu VTF-15H (2)

Nice setup!

I wonder if stacking them would cause a huge localization issue. If you moved them on the inside of your RF-7's, you would probably get some of the stacking effect from them.

Not sure. Just figured I tried something different. Wondering if the dub increase outweighs the benefit of spreading them out.

My understanding is that setting subs opposite each other, similar to your setup, evens out room dynamics resulting in more even, consistent LFE performance. You'd lose that if they were stacked, wouldn't ya?

Possibly. Kinda the thought of the experiment, or maybe I am just bored!

On the original part, my issue is putting in the same spot means they cant go side by side obviously

Curious as to whether the one sitting on top of another would walk. I guess I could take the feet off and use some blue tak.

Go ahead and try it. Be sure to post a pic. I've seen 15H's stacked in pictures before but never head them stacked. I would try it but that'd be covering up part of my screen.

I actually moved everything around last night and stacked the VTF's (just didnt look good to me), so I moved them inward and spread these new towers out. I am going to setup XT32 today and we will see how it all sounds on XT32.

I kind like the way it looks more, problem I had when I spread my older towers out is they did not sound as good. I also didnt have an AVR with XT32. I think between XT32 and these more large towers, they will be fine.

The towers are about 10.5 feet apart, and 10.3 from the MLP.

Looks good and it looks a lot more imposing that it did before....lol.

Now, if you would let me 'borrow' that RC64 for a while.
