I know HD DVD is on everyones brain, but there is another format called DVD. Maybe that is why I put DVD in my post.

? Your post was a response to my post about the cost of the HD-DVD which was a response to mpg about the lossles track...

Therefore, I just wanted to clarify your statement. Thanks.

Picked the HD DVD up from Amazon for $8.95

Vidmaven
1. 104db LP
2. 116db @ 1meter
3. 1700cuft (sealed)
4. SVS 16-46CS (NSD driver) & Velodyne F-1500R
5. Master Volume -10db Subs each calibrated to 75db on SPL meter (uncorrected) 80db summed.

The problem with obsessions is that they are insatiable.

I went to the local Blockbuster to see if they had it on sale. I found it and made my way up to the register and the cashier said it was the Japanese version, so I put it back.

I then ordered it along with a few others and I still got the damn Japanese version.

The movie is not very good, with the japanese version you still could test your subs.

I couldn't find the scene everyone is referring to. I think it is in Ch. 15 if I am not mistaken but go to Ch. 15 in the Japanese version and all you have are the credits.

It will be towards the end. The japanese version does not have scene selects in the menu with pictures? BTW, What are you using to kill a ZO6?

I'm not going to stray off topic but yes, an '06 Viper coupe. Stock for now except for Motons, but it will be undergoing the knife soon.

The ZO6 is a strong car and I have always liked them. All 35,000 they produce every year.

Different scenes, I think that is not the same movie, it is like buying ringu thinking you bought the ring, only they have the same titles. I just read the epik thread and saw the pics, nice. This is a fun thread and the OP would appreciate it if you ran the test with your conquests, I don't think we have any numbers with them. I will rerun the test(I have a demo disc) when I finish my subs.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I heard the movie wasn't that great so it didn't matter to me if it had subtitles, I was just going to play the basement scene and move on to FOTP. It doesn't have anything similar to the US version.

I will be getting the Behringer Feedback Destroyer Pro DSP1124P along with a sound meter and the test cd. As soon as I have measurements I will post them. I need to go through the house and nail/silicone everything down.

I can't believe it has been this long before I ran Pulse with my new sub system. It is a whole new experience. The scene actually produces which seems like a sine wave sweep from 15-20 hz. You can feel and then hear it. Great experience. My last subs never did this although they produced loud bass. It compressed and flexed the walls pretty good, I really thought something would break.

I hit 126 db's running them at 72db's and my speakers at 75db's(test tones). These subs seem to have no limits in my room. I am very pleased

No sweat at all, for my JBL 4645 I'll rent it first if I like what I see and hear then I'll buy it. Pulse you wouldn't have DVD cover of the film because I understand there are several films baring the same title and I don't want to get the wrong film and sit though a load of wall drying boring 2 hours of rubbish.

I gather there’s never been 70mm six-track Dolby stereo blow-up prints stuck for this film. That’s okay Dolby stereo 4:2:4 can have few moments where it’s deep and low.

One other film I’d like to get on region 2 DVD is “Paper House” from the same year (1988) produced in (Dolby stereo SR) now that had a few bumps and I seem to remember the (Han’s Zimmer) score on the end credits was pucker, when I heard the (NICAM 725) broadcast back in the early 1990’s.

Anyway now I know what the DVD cover looks like, no problem what so ever.

Spec is -10 at 22hz but you can probably eq it up.

I'm finding this scene "too easy". I get 126db@lp corrected using an inch of xmax. To go louder I would have to leave the room or wear ear muffs. At that volume the ceiling is literally shaking, you can put your hand on it and feel the vibrations.

I’ve had it up to an almost ear deafening 126db about the same with a little film called “Final Approach” (1991).

No a bit lower and the frequency sweep is good from 18Hz going upwards.

Edit after having a bath and feel cleansed with the decadent delights of JBL and music score isolated track from, I can’t say. But it felt good in the bathtub LOL.

My last home was pants the sub bass lows would curse the kitchen window to flex and vibrate even at 16Hz a slow movement. Moving up the scale to 18 and 30Hz spot frequencies it just went nuts. I was worried the low end at some point would crack the glass.

Thanks Good ole youtube you can always rely on youtube I wonder if this is in Dolby stereo matrix 4:2:2 as some videos on youtube are. I only have the mono sound on with the pc at moment and the home cinema is turned off so I'm not going to patch the pc to AUX on the AVR now. I'm getting some kip in jiffy.

Thought I'd revive this old thread as I finally ran this myself for fun ....

1. 108.4 db LP (14 feet away)
2. did not test
3. 1700cuft (not sealed due to two open doorways)
4. Dual Opposed AV15H subwoofers x 2, QSC RMX 5050 amp
5. Master Volume 0db Sub calibrated to 72/73db on SPL meter (uncorrected)

That was fun.

My DIY Subs ...

These tests were always fun. People need to be careful if not using multiples or not a very good sub in a medium to large room. These results will vary from meter to meter and room to room. They should be close if everyone runs flat and at reference levels. I happen to run hot as my subs blend well anyways.

MK, you should run it with your DTS-10's and see how they compare with the old setup.

Dumb enough to spend lots of cash on this junk!
