My Ex's got some work out from MI Ghost Protocol (Kremlin scene but don't know how low it got since I don't any way to measure). The movie even has exceptionally well surround sound effects.

Does anybody have any review charts on the LFM1-Plus? I can not find one for the life of me.

Probably similar to the ex except for the low

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

I really want to see the difference between them. I have seen how the EX compairs to other subs and was thinking of going another route. If I have two subs in the same location, do I get a 6 db increase or am I wrong on that? My spl meter is not here so this is why I am asking.

2 identical subs in the same location will yeild approx a 6db gain in spl. If that what you want go for it.... However for me more even freq resp is more important so I have 1 sub far field in a front corner and 1 sub nearfield as an end table. Also 2 identical subs placed at different locations will yeild approx a 3db gain in spl.

Has anyone ever tried the Outlaw Loudspeakers? Looks like a decent 2 way mini tower

What mini tower are you talking about? The only speakers I thought they had were the LCR and BLS.

I don't own those speakers, but they've gotten good reviews. That being said, I'm generally wary of reviews in publications in which the manufacturer of the product being reviewed is a sponsor.

A Plus and and EX in the same room = awesome. Not even dialed in yet and placement is less than exceptional. War of the Worlds, as crappy as it is, low frequency is sick. Both on grammas, which I will say again buy one.

I'm too lazy to thumb through this thread I was gone the past 2 months. Gave up a bunch of message boards for Lent.

This was the one website I kinda forgot I was frequenting.

Anyways only update I can say was I finally got to hear the EX really sing without any care in the world (I'm in an apartment so while I do have fun with it I always am somewhat cautious).

I visited a friend who owns a home out of state. He bought the EX a while back after hearing mine. Well in a house with a wooden floor on a Gramma..."Jesus Christ" is about all I can say.

I can't wait to get out of this apartment in another year. I bought this sub for when I planned on moving anyways. That sucker really likes wood over carpet IMO too.

Two things stood out to me:

1.) The movie "Up" the thunderstorm scene in the beginning when the house starts flying away is very impressive with the LFE on this sub. Every time the thunder struck it shook the entire floor like a real storm.

2.) In the movie "The Rock" when...SPOILER the first rocket is fired over Oakland the sub hit so hard I got scared I screwed my hearing up. The pressure the sub created in the room actually caused one of my ears to pop. After that I took a break with the listening test.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes has some awesome audio scenes. Just for kicks I decided to try to watch this movie at "Reference Level"....After nearly pissing my pants during the opening scene, I turned it down.

Wish I could afford to get 2 more! Quad Pluses in my room of 23' X 11' X 7.5' would be nuts.

I'm sure anyone who got their refund back from the government this year has already contacted Outlaw. If not, they should. Nothing like two Outlaw subwoofers to make the missus stop and think why it was they married you.

The LFM-1Plus for $499.00 with free shipping is a nice deal. If you've been on the fence this just might push you off.

I am debating on Outlaw LFM-1Plus and Epik legend. Any help from you guys would greatly assist in narrowing it down to one. it will be placed in a 18'x16' room which opens to a kitchen. Thanks!

i guess it depends what you want more. the outlaw will have more output and be better for ht. the legend will sound better with music. keep in mind this is my opinion from owning a lfm-ex and the legend.

Hi flickhtguru, I would love to have quad EX's but wife wouldn't approve it. Was lucky to convince her on two .

My EX's workout for this weekend is two BD movies, The Sitter and Haywire.

If it helps, i had a couple people PM me about issues with epik subs/support and another couple warn me against getting them in various threads i made. Seems like they have amp issues (at least, the owners thread indicated as much when i was trying to decide which sub to purchase).

This deal is very tempting to me. I have a Velodyne CT-100 that is probably 12-14 years old. Works fine but I'm wondering what I may be missing in the bass department.

I live in a condo with neighbors on both sides of me (no one above or below), soundproofing between condo units.
My room is 10 x 19 x 8 open to a 10 x 15 kitchen/dinette. I listen to probably 60% HT, 40% music usually at moderate levels.

Would the LFM-1Plus be overkill for me?

Ha - I just saw that price - good for some (new buyers), but I'm trying to sell a used one locally, maybe not so good for me!

Not if you keep it turned down!

Seriously, that's one thing I always question when people ask about 'overkill' in a subwoofer. Just because a sub is capable of putting out very high SPL, doesn't mean you're forced to make it do so. What a bigger sub will do, though, is allow you to play more of the low frequency effects than you could otherwise do. Whether or not the rumbles and bangs of tanks being thrown around or whatnot would be a problem for your neighbors isn't something I can really answer. Without anyone above or below you, though, and with sound deadening walls, I suspect you would find that you can enjoy a new level of bass without driving too many people crazy. And when the neighbors are away, woohoo!

Thank you for the post! I started looking for a new subwoofer a month too late after the previous $549 shipped EX sale. Is there a significant difference between the Plus and EX to justify waiting for another sale to come along?

JChin, how did you get on their e-mail list? I signed up on their forum, but didn't get that e-mail.

The biggest difference is SPL output, so it would really depend on your room size. If you have a large room where the Plus would be challenged, it would be better to wait.
