I have a dilemma right now.

I managed to pick up a sb-2000 for a good price ($600) and I also have a x12 on the way for $550.

The x12 is cheaper, but the sb was also quite a steal. For 80% movies 20% music what's everyone's take on what I should keep. My room is about 20x10 with two open doorways.
Return the SB-2000 and order another X12

If you mostly watch movies, most people would want the extra LFE output added by the ported X12. That would be my choice out of the choices you provided.
If you don't want a 2nd sub due to costs, I would still keep a single X12.

The x12 arrived! My God the bass is strong on this one. Blows the sb2000 away. In terms of tightness and clarity the sb wins but not by a huge margin. I think we have a winner.

On a separate note. This thing is heavy as hell. Carrying it and unboxing it solo was hell. Also how are people doing the subtract? The spikes will destroy my couch -_-

You can just put it right in front of the couch and then do your sub crawl.

Hard to compare ported vs sealed. The SB-2000 will easily win in extension and for me personally, SQ and music. But the ported X12 has my vote for HT due to the added output.

I put my Outlaw on a block of wood for the Sub Crawl...if that's what you meant.

Thanks for the suggestions. My new question is that I've always read to give ports at least 2 times their diameter in clearance to let it breath. With spikes the sub is still very close to the ground, with bottom facing ports will this cause an issue? I wonder why it's designed this way.

There's a lot of differing opinions on port spacing, but in a case like this they designed it to sit on a floor and I haven't had any issues with mine.

May not have wanted to destroy those. If you have warranty issues they require you to ship it back in the original box, and they charge around $50 for a replacement.....unless something has changed since I owned/sold my outlaws.

War of the Worlds is fantastic! I demoed that scene the other day for some friends and they were very impressed.

I have a LMF1-EX with an amp that keeps blowing fuses. In the process of contacting Outlaw to see about repair costs.

But PE has the 300W Bash amp on sale for $148:

Has anyone replaced an original LMF amp with one of the generic Bash ones?
