Regarding what he offers at $1,100 I have no idea. You would need to ask the man himself. He sells via word of mouth and his forums. The last time I checked Submersive's went for $1,995. I'm not sure I ever stated anything about a Seaton subwoofer at an $1,100 price point though, unless you were just asking because that is your budget for a new/secondary sub?

Yes, I am looking to add to my Tower at around $1200 or so.

I am thinking of selling it since I can't really enjoy the sub because I have 1 year old baby . Thanks.

I'll try to sell it locally first (pickup only) at msrp. I think it will hard to find someone willing to pay your total cost (msrp + shipping to you) + shipping to them. Good luck, and congrats on the baby.

Thanks, I am only asking for what I paid for the sub which is $1150 shipped to 48 states. I am located in Richmond VA if someone interested in buying the sub & I will give discount if local.

Actually, I just bought some theater seats yesterday so my hobby fund is depleted for the time being. I am curious though to see what Epik's new subs are going to be.

I'm contemplating on purchasing a powerful sealed sub to go with my Tower (most likely from Epik if they have vamped up their sealed offerings). To get the best of both so to speak. Any cons against this setup? I'll just throw it out there for now till I do more research later tonite. I can already see more fine tuning and measuring might be necessary since both may/will not out put the same way.

Really if you are using 2 subwoofers together I would recommend 2 of the exact same type over 2 different woofers.

If you simply want a sealed sub for "music only" then you could definitely set up an "either/or" for the 2 subwoofers you may end up with if you go that route.

I can attest to that, I bought my Knight second hand from a gentleman in, IL!
Amazing sub, for $600 its a steal. Before the Knight, I had an LFM-1 Plus, while a great sub, it just didnt seem to be in the same class as the Knight.

It doesnt disappoint.

Thanks Klipsch, yes I am going to sell the sub. If you are local (Richmond, VA) you could check the condition & listen to it.

While we wait for Epik to resume selling subs, I was wondering what the main benefits of having two Towers instead of just one would be. Here is my situation. I only have room for the subs up front, one to the left of my center channel and one to the right. I know that I will gain headroom but will having them so close together also help level out my FR response as well? Or do you need to split them up more to accomplish that?

First, you can hear the headroom with duals. Even if you've never heard your sub sound strained, it most likely is when driven hard. When driven half as hard to produce the same SPL, you go toward bass heaven. Instant hits, better punch, less ringing and greater pressurization are noticeable. Splitting them on the front soundstage should get you the best response to maximize headroom advantage and take care of room issues, but it's very room dependent. When I ran duals I had my subs behind the front stage about 3' apart. I got the full 6dbs and was flat at the LP w/o EQ. You might not be so lucky, but the benefits are substantial.

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

There is a science to subwoofer placement. Generally you will get flatter FR out of having 2 subs in separate locations, but really experimentation in your room is the only way to find out. You can just as easily cause cancellation too though. You would also get 3db more total output if they are in separate locations, and about 6db more total output if you locate them together. Oh and headroom

Holy crap looks like Epik's got some new subs. Wow they got an 18" sealed sub now. I guess they discontinued their old line-up except the Conquest.

Good find, 18 inch sealed for $999 sounds like a winner.
They even show pictures of the drivers.

I was thinking since they discontinued the older subs. What if someone had a problem with there Knight or Tower. How would Epik go about replacing amps and drivers.

aww nuts. I wanted another Tower. The Dynasty looks tempting tho. Shipping prices have improved too. Tower shipped to FL costed me $286. Dynasty shipping to me $119. The new driver looks impressive. Don't know if I'm digging the slot ported tho. An affordable 18" sub.

I think another term for downfire ports. I may be placing an order for one and selling my HSU! The best part is that Epik is 5 minutes from my home!
