Are there any other reviews yet? No offense to you paisteman, but I want to see more than 1 review. Especially a comparison to a different Sub would be very nice.

I'm still waiting on Jeffrey's review....hello? Where is Jeffrey? Is he enjoying the eD so much, that he'd rather be listening, then writing? Good Choice!!!

I'll be getting my A5-350 on wed. and I'll post some impressions and pics when I get home that day. I'll also (time permitting) do some comparisons to an older HSU sub I have for referrence.

Patience is a virtue. Let's just say that for $600 it is a great bargain. I haven't had a ton of time with it yet and want to get the spikes to face it down before I do a full review but this thing hits hard, goes low and puts out some serious spls.

So how about the comparison with the SVS Ultra? I know you do not have the eD downfiring yet, but from your preliminary impressions do you think there will be any comparison between the two? If there is, then the A5-350 is one of the best bang for the buck subs of all time.

Just finished watching Hot Fuzz ( shyte loads of bass)and let me tell ya, this sub rocks.
Of course the shakers under me helped a lot, but i moved to a stirred not shaken couch and it was still loud and deep.
So far I am very pleased and just broke down the shipping box, so I am stuck with it.

I know there are better, prettier subs out there, but for my money I am a grinning fool over here.

I did a few A B comparisons between the two subs this weekend and the eD held it's own. The SVS is a better sub, no question about it. It is also $1400. After switching the two out a few times, doing the comparisons, I left the SVS hooked up the rest of the weekend. I was very impressed with it. I had to give it back to Ron Stimpson this morning. I told him that I was mugged and that the SVS was taken from me. He wasn't going for that.
I now have the eD hooked up and will listen to it a lot more tonight. I want those spikes! Maybe I should just set it on bricks.

But in regards to the best bang for the buck sub. From the subs that I have heard in that price range, you would be correct.

Thanks Jeffrey. I would not expect it to outperform the SVS, but the fact that it was able to "hold it's own" against one of the other best bang for the buck subs out there (that is over double it's price), makes me a happy camper and even more anxious to get mine.

After having so many people be blown away by my DIY sub with a 15" driver and 250 watt plate amp, I always wondered why some company did not produce a "DIY style" sub with a 15" driver for the commercial market. It appears that eD and Epik are now filling that void. It is a good time to be sub shopping.

Yep. A great time to be shopping. These comapnies are really making it realistic for people who don't know how or want to take the time for A DIY sub. We now get DIY or better type of performance for the masses. eD hit a home run with the A5-350.

I currently own the SVS PB10 subwoofer and I think I need a worthwhile upgrade. I have my sights on two subwoofers right now. The Epik Valor and the A5-350. As I said in the other thread, if I can get a subwoofer that will give me twice the performance of a single PB10 ISD, I'll be extremely happy.

And if it's musical performance is a worthwhile step up then it's icing on the cake. My only other requirement is that it must play back lower than the PB10 (naturally tuned to 17.5 hz). The only thing that is bugging me is the amount of compression at high output levels. It just seems to run out of steam early on. Perhaps my unit is defective, I'm not sure, but the output levels don't seem that high at all, and this is my first subwoofer that I've ever owned.

The limiter is so aggressive that the bass actually gets softer as it's limits are reached. And the levels I'm talking about are way before reference level (calibrated with SPL meter to 75 dB's and 73-74 dB for sub). So if I can get an idea of the performance upgrade I'll get with either one of these subwoofers it will make my decision much easier to make.

Thanks.

It won't win any beauty contests, but I like the finish.
It looks durable and black goes with anything.
No striking wood veneer?
Well no worries about scratches or water marks either .
It's a trade off I'm ok with, it makes a grat sounding end table.

All right, sorry for the poor quality of the picture.

But these pictures were taken from the camera on my MacBook Pro.

The room the sub resides in the extra room over the garage, which also serves as my bedroom.

LOL man we weren't that desparate for pics. I'll gladly wait for some with a real camera with the lights on. Looks like a decent setup from what I can see in the 2nd pic though.
