I have to think that if the amps haven't failed already, that they are unlikely to fail anytime soon. Most of the failures that I've seen commented on were infant mortality with less than 6 months of use. I'm into my 5th year with my Bash driven PB13 Ultra, no hiccups yet. On the down side, depending on your processor, you would only get 1 channel of EQ...

I'd offer 2k for the pair and grin like a cat once I dialed them in biggrin.gif. YMMV.

BASH FAILURE RATE WAS MOSTLY CONFINED TO THE FIRST BATCH MANUFACTURED.COLD START-UP IS ALSO NOT GOOD FOR THE BASH. LEAVE THEM IN STANDBY.i HAVE 3 750W BASH AMPS IN STORAGE SINCE UPGRADING TO SLEDGE. THEY WORK AND LOOK PERFECT.

I'm familiar with SVS closely in Spain, and I know every model differences.

The Ultra controller is very sturdy and ready for high load excursion. Plus the new generation has inherited much of his qualities. Logically being even more potent Plus, the Ultra BASH has that little extra capacity of 1.5 dB of maximum output. I add the Sledge 800w amplifier efficiency is much higher and has some added features that the platform does not incorporate Ultra BASH.

They removing biases and a bandage on eyes, both in the same room and tested, are sonically indistinguishable.

Where if there is some difference of 3dB +, Sledge is the Ultra, where the engine driver has major changes to maintain a slight distance.

The 750w BASH and the 800d amplifier probably have similar output capabilites. The U13 driver is the best SVS presently has to offer. With an underhung motor in the ported models ( the others are overhung) it also has superior parts and material. It also has the least distortion and is more linear than their other units.

I will not debate with someone who has not tried the two units.
The generation ultra Bash does not carry the same current generation ultra driver. Actual PB12 + carries suspended like the ultra engine that makes no bottoms with backplate own Iman. Another thing is that the ultra carries a driver capable of supporting a larger tour and therefore achieves more SPL.

But when compared with PB12 Ultra bash + DSP, the differences are negligible, this has already said Ed Mullen where both models were compared and were similar in behavior.

Hey Mongo,

The driver on the PB13 Ultra is truly insane. It's overbuilt by virtually all subwoofer standards out there. I watched Cloverfield and that maniacal driver was almost as devastating as the Cloverfield Monster. I love my PB13 Ultra. It makes movies so much fun. wink.gif

That's one of the reasons I went with the Ultra. The thing is a beast. Just counting down the months when I get its twin! Cloverfield is great. I also like OHF and the server scene. I did watch BHD until it got hairy. Then I turned it off. Don't like true stories with an undesirable theme. Of course, we all know what happened. But, surprisingly, the F-ing Irene scene was felt. Surprised me because I run at the 20Hz mode.

I've heard the driver weighs 60lbs. The amp might weigh ~5lbs?

The driver does weigh 60lbs and what a killer it is.
This photo, whoever hasn't seen it before, is of a cutaway demo model displayed at the 2012 Rocky Mountain Audio Show.

Just doin' some web browsing and found a company in taiwan called formosa audiomate. They make a 1000w plate amp that looks suprisingly similar to the sledge 1000d.

id # is hd11024bd. It looks like a sledge copy with almost the same features (the sledge has more features from what I can see)

Just google...... formosa hd11024bd to see it.

The face of it looks identical to my STA-1000D amp on my PC-13-Ultra. I haven't seen what the inside looks like, so can't comment there.

Correct. Apparently Audiomate formosa manufactures custom-SVS amplifiers.

Pseudo dumb question.

I had the great fortune of buying a SB13 Ultra with less than a year of use for a great price, and have two decent but not great subs currently hooked up (think Elemental Designs A2-300 + Klipsch RW-12)

My question is, would I be better off running all 3 subs or just the SB13 Ultra since it's so far and away superior to the other two?

Thanks

Personally, I would sell the other subs and put the money towards a second SB13-Ultra. The SVS will walk away and leave the other subs gasping for air.
