Just got a YSP-800 from BB (159.99 deal).

I am looking for a sub to go with it.

I don't really want to spend more than $150.

Fry's has the Velodyne Vx-10 on sale today for $150.

Another one that folks have been recommending to match it is the Yamaha YST-FSW100.

Looking for opnions on the two for me setup and maybe suggestions for other options.

Room size is a smaller living room. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment.

New here!

I'd go velodyne over yamaha and I like yamaha. I have not heard your particular subs though. Yamaha is just not known for any good speakers

I myself do not care for JBL products...But that is just me...You will get so much more and better a sub going with the Dayton model I provided a link to...

I ended up picking up the VX-10 at Fry's for 149.99 + tax. I am new to the home audio so I am not sure exactly what I am listening for from a technical POV. pretty much just followed the instructions that came with the ysp-800 and calibrated it. Sounds sweet to me and exactly what I was looking for to go with my new Vizio LCD.
