Some of you know that I was asked to say a few words at the CEDIA AVS Forum event. I thought hard about it and decided to tell the truth for a change. That is, we are all addicted to this place. Of course, we all like to deny it
. So to that end, I made a list of test to diagnose the disease in the style of Jeff Foxworthy's
famous line, "you know you are a redneck if...."
I think the list resonated with folks pretty well given all the laughs it got. But worried that they may have all been drunk by the time I got them
, I thought I post the list here also. And to have some fun.
It might be cool to keep adding to this list, especially when things get tense around here
.You know you're an AVS forum addict if
you think forums are easier to read when the text is purple on black
you believe there should be some type of award for reaching 10,000 posts
your definition of an action packed evening is calibrating your home theater with the latest Joe Kane calibration disks
your kids are name Runco, Marantz and your dog's name is
...you have to let people know not to expect any posts from you because you will be away for a couple of hours
you post messages using the numeric keypad on your phone
when your wife asks you if you are working while posting on AVS, you say. YES
you see more of your posts on a thread than all the other people combined
you instantly know that +1 means that person agrees with the previous post
you check your AVS subscriber thread first thing in the morning, before you check your work email
the day you leave AVS Forum you still have to post that you are doing that!
You have more AVS forum shortcuts in your browse than any other web site. (like me!)
