When you bought your first HDM player how many discs did you also buy?

How may discs do you think the MAC (Mr/Ms. Average Consumer) will buy for his first player?

Note: I am using MAC instead of J6P. Some people don't like beer...not sure why.

I bought my first titles from Amazon last september during the start of the 10% discount offer in anticipation of the 360 addon which I later bought in November. They were Constantine, Serinity and Pitch Black.

Three: Constantine, The Searchers and Sleepy Hollow.

Two (actually 6 if you count the individual discs): "Planet Earth" and "Digital Video Essentials" when I bought my A20 from Amazon.

I bought my HD-A20 from a local dealer who had to order it in for me (FutureShop had them in stock, but the dealer is a friend of the family and he gave me a better deal than what FutureShop was offering). I then went to FutureShop and bought 300, Batman Begins, King Kong, Chronicles of Ridick, and Troy. Unfortunately, I had to wait a few days before I could watch any of them.

My player came with Tokyo Drift, Perfect Storm, and Black Rain.

I bought my PS3 for games, but later bought X-Men 3.
Bought 3 HD DVDs with my player.
Bourne 1&2 and V for Vendetta

Now close to 100. As close to being 50/50 as possible.

Only watches movies on celluloid in the DOP's personal home theater.

I got 15.

It was in August during that narrow window when Amazon dropped their shorts and was giving away 3 with any HD DVD player purchase. Got my XA2, 3 free, plus 12 more via their simultaneous B2G3, equals 15.

Hmmm, well I bought the 360 add-on on the Monday, went on vacation on the Tueday,(this is 1st week in Sept '07 by the way), and came home on the Saturday with 13 HD DVDs. We're now starting Nov '07 and I have 33 HD DVDs on my shelf with another two on the way, and another five on pre-order. Damn it feels good to be a gangster!!

1 Rio Bravo. :P

I picked up HD DVD at a time when, sadly, there aren't that many releases I want coming out, So I probably won't be purchasing many until the new year unless they have some kind of 2fer1 sale before then.
