Pretty impressive. The only thing I don't like is the price.

Cheers!

I'll live with the price if it works. I can sell my eyeTV unit as well.

Heck if it's as good as they state I can sell my HiPix and use only the MyHD in my HTPC. As I stated before, if such a product were introduced I would support it. One unit ordered already. Thanks el gato. I paid more for the HiPix and probably the same for a DVI MyHD package. This gives me DVI/ADC/VGA output and editing too.

Yeah, but... if you read the whole page, I think it says that you would burn to NTSC DVD. That might not be too bad as long as it's anamorphic...

Now is ElGato smart enough to make their boxes have multiple IR frequencies available so I can run multiple units?

John

I swear I'll burn those downloaded Replay files to DVD!

This guy works for Roxio, my guess is it's tied directly to Toast. If we can't do anamorphic I don't see why we can't do it ourselves. It was probably a quick gimmick to add with a simple integration. He's done a lot with the software since my usb eyeTV shipped. I'll create my own DVDs if I have too, I just wanted a HDPVR. I've already got 20 HDs of archival OTA, what's a few more? :D

"Elgato has released a system development kit (SDK) for plug-ins to extend the functionality of the EyeTV software. With the new functionality of EyeTV’s plug-in interface, the EyeTV software gives third parties access to the raw incoming MPEG-2 transport stream packet data. A plug-in receives device plugged and unplugged notifications, it can request or release individual PIDs within the MPEG-2 transport stream, and most importantly, it has access to transport stream packets in real time, as they arrive from the device."

Could be great for MacHT

I'm a little bummed that it is only ATSC instead of allowing QAM. Digital cable is making such inroads that OTA reception won't be the primary method of picking up the HDTV signals...

Just heard about this as my cube-mate got his today. I don't get something - if this is so cheap & easy to do that eyeTV sells for $300 and includes integrated TitanTV PVR functionality, why can't SageTV or any other PVR do the same thing with PC HDTuner cards?

Or is that an embarassingly stupid question where I need to run and hide?

Well that is how things usually go with the Mac. Except for some exasperating reason, anything to do with DVD playing..
