This section arrived just in time. I've ordered a Mac Mini from Apple, 1.42 Mhz 512Mb Ram, Wireless, 80GB HD, Superdrive. I'm just waiting on Apple to deliver it sometime in February.

I'm not going to be using it as a dedicated HTPC but i will try it as such for the heck of it. I will be using it on my existing PC Network for Itunes and every day productivity. I've bought a 19" Viewsonic Flat CRT to plug into it.

My existing HTPC connect to my Optoma H30 thru a DVI to VGA adapter, so hooking the mac to the projector should be easy enough using the suplied converter. I'll have more questions once I get the mini.

Welcome to the Mac OS platform!

If you already have computer experience, and by your non-Mac setup, you likely do this article might prove a helpful intro:

I ordered my first may too.

I have been considering buying one ever since OSX came out, being a linux enthusiast. But was always put off by the price. I already had a nice LCD display, and didn't want to pay for a Power Mac.

This is perfect for me, and I also appreciate the links.

You are welcome guys.

Depending on your ability to learn through experimentation, might I also suggest you pick up a book on Mac OS X. It might help ease your initial experience with the Mac OS (and for folks coming from Linux, the BSD-based underpinnings).

Enjoy!

I am a Network engineer by trade so I deal with windows servers alot, as well as Cisco IOS. My prefered OS to date is Linux, so I am used to learning new things. The fact that I don't know OSX and that others speak so highly is one reason I want one.
