Greetings all. Long time lurker first time poster. Sorry if this info has been hashed before but I have tried many options and searching on this forum regarding my TV...and am coming up short with switchresX. I cant seem to find timings anywhere regarding this TV

I have purchased a copy of the software running a standard dvi ->hdmi cable from my mini to my TV results in a 1280 x 720 native rez. However, the screen has a black 1.5 inch border around with overscan turned on and turned off leaves the dock and finder bar out of range. Help! I know that I have to use a custom rez and I probably wont get a true 1:1 pixal map, however I would prefer to fill my screen. So with that said I have tried many many settings to no avail. I think I am missing something simple....

I have exported my DDC options. Can someone who is knowledgable with SwitchresX assist me? I would be very grateful. Anyone have any ideas? Can I not go out side of the ranges:

Horizontal frequency range.......30-48 kHz
Vertical frequency range.........55-65 Hz

posted in my DDC dump?

Also note the TV manual it says you cant do pc DVI->HDMI...but this works straight ouf of the box just with a black border.

Thanks ahead of time.

I can't help you directly, but you might also want to post this in 123macmini.com's HTPC forum.

I have the exact same TV as you (HP-S4253) and I would love to know the proper settings. Were you able to make any progress with the resolutions and DisplayConfigX/SwitchRes? I spent days trying to get it set properly and ended up giving up and using the RGB connector in disgust. It was the only way I could get the image to fill the whole screen with nothing being cutoff. Please share if you were successful.

I'm starting to think this is a limitation with Samsung HDTV's HDMI port, and not necessarily wuth the Mac. I had the same exact issue, with no success, and ended up using a VGA cable from the Mac to the "PC" input on the Samsung to get the issue resolved.
