I'd just like to say that I have one problem with the new front row: There is no longer a "Resume" for movies (xvid/divx, etc.). I do a lot of torrenting and have a bunch of movies in this format and when I stop halfway in a movie and go do something else and then come back I can no longer "Resume" like the old front row could. Instead it just starts from the beginning. Very annoying but I think the problem is that it's not really using quicktime and iTunes like front row had before. Now front row is a sort of seperate operation. So if you play something in itunes, you can't start it back up at the same point in front row.
Maybe there is some way to fix this or they will update it later...but right now it's stupid that I have to fast forward to where I was before.
Other than that the new front row is MUCH faster. I have not had any problems playing anything (I have Perian but I thought perian doesnt work with leopard, maybe I'm wrong). Everything seems to work great. The only other thing I would have liked is if they had made it easier to add external movies to the movie folder. I have an external hard drive that has all my movies on it. I put an alias in my Movies folder but it's annoying having to click on Movies -> Movies -> Movies Alias to finally get to my movies. Would be nice if there was an easier way.
Anyway, that's about all I have to say. The Divx/Xvid movies don't look any better than the old front row. I was hoping with the new DVD player they could have also made the detailing on just regular .avi movies look better too. Oh well.
Haven't looked at DVD's yet but I will now that I remembered that the DVD player is better.
Nope, just VIDEO_TS folders. QuickLook is used for video files.
** Just like to add that putting Preview.jpg of the cover of a movie in the folder where your Divx/Xvid movies also WORKS, so it's not just video_ts folders. But it seems to show three different images. The Preview.jpg image, a still image of the first frame of the movie, and then I guess the stock image of a front row movie file (a movie reel). Don't know if there's a way to just have it show the Preview.jpg
