My first HT. Rookie mistake on my part to not think about that.

So are you able to move the L and R speakers in slightly?

I love my Constant Image Height system!

That's probably what I'll do eventually, but they are in-walls so it isn't a quick project. Even with the extra work to move them, Chris' new panels are still a lot more cost effective than one of the motorized systems.

Having said that, I'm very interested in the potential of the DIY-gone-professional automated masking solution that came up here recently.

Hey Jay,

How are ya? There is also the Somis(I htink that's wat it's called) and Don said he could do AT. He has a manual one right now on the cheap or he's building an electric one.

Your HT looks great!!

Thanks, Scott! Good to hear from you

I think I'm going to see how the Somis and the other project play out a bit. As it is, I have a few other projects in the room I've got to do first. I was only looking at the Seymour masking now because it was cheap 'n easy...

Next steps:

1) replace the white face plates, paint white grills/AC vents/etc.
2) equipment rack (have the quote in for that one)
3) sound treatments
4) masking

The room is definitely too "live" and figuring out sound treatments is going to be a learning experience. Particularly trying to to completely ugly up the place at the same time! More rookie quesions coming soon

Jay,
I'm pretty sure I'll be in Austin sometime in August. I'd love to see your setup in person. I'll shoot you a PM, once I get the dates locked down, if that's ok.

Sure. As long as I'm in town and no prior commitments, be happy to show it off and geek out
