There was talk about a few manufactures going "21:9", but nothing seems to have happened with that. And the DP is still highly priced to be considered mainstream.

Based upon our close monitoring of the projector industry, no manufacturers have any plans to introduce a new "21:9" chip to the market any time soon. In fact, I don't even know of any on the drawing boards. DPI and projection design already have their "2.35:1 native" Scope projector (actually, 2.37:1) but as mentioned above, they are quite highly priced. If anything, more and more manufacturers have been moving to zoom as their low cost solution, not a new imaging chip design.

Too bad. I was hoping that this will be able to bridge between the zoom CIH and anamorphic CIH.
