Liked: 10 so I came across this on YouTube how in the heck did he do this? I have a Epson 3020. It looks like in the video he attached the lens to the projector, but I don't think it's threaded on like you do a camcorder. Too bad he's not more descriptive in his video.

This is no different than zooming out the projector's own lens to fill a 2.35 screen, or just onto a wall. The black bars are still being projected above and below the picture. The only reason the person in the youtube video used that camcorder wide-angle lens is because their room is too small to move the projector back enough that it's own lens would shoot that big of a picture. If you have enough distance between your screen wall and projector that you can zoom out to get the size you want, buying that wide-angle lens is of no benefit.
