Is anyone using Muralo black theatrical paint for their screen wall? The guys at the store said this is the best black paint to get for a home theater wall. I am curious as to how much light it absorbs from zooming spill.

So I went ahead and painted my wall with this paint. All I can say is WOW!! It is super black, and very very flat. It almost has a texture to it when it dries. It took me four coats. It shows any dust on top, and can even show fingerprints. It does however work very well. It almost totally eliminates all light spill when zooming. The only time you can really see light spill is when the projector is on throwing a blank image. Even on dark scenes in movies the spill disappears. Looks amazing! Highly recommend.

120" 2.35 Carada 1.0 gain screen with a Epson 8350 projector.

Now you need to paint your ceiling with it wink.gif

See what an anamorphoscopic lens can do, see movies the way they were meant to be seen

Truly. And your side walls. The improvement in contrast will be dramatic. A 1.0 gain screen will spill a great deal of light on the side walls and ceiling, which comes back to wash out the image. See what you can do to get the side walls and ceiling a darker color. The Muralo would be ideal but not many people will put up with a totally black room smile.gif
