Why cant I stretch John Carter

I have an VC Panamorph lens. I recently upgraded to a Sony 3d Projector. I also have an Onkyo 818 dvr. I normally use the Onkyo to do the stretch however the projector and bluray player all have stretch. We have watched several movies in 3d with no issue but we tried John Carter today and it would not stretch. I tried to stretch in the dvr then the projector and then the bluray player but no matter what, black bars. How can a movie prevent the stretch function? The 2d disc worked fine.

Only thing I can think of is, I think Oppo's can't stretch BD-Java discs, maybe that's it. And it seems like a lot of projectors can't stretch 3D at all.

See what an anamorphoscopic lens can do,

It has really bugged me that I can't do anamorphic stretch on my setup. I have the Sony VPL HW50ES and it won't stretch any of the 3D discs I own, none of them.

So, I just got an Oppo BDP-103D and just for the halibut I decided to try some 3D discs. I started with John Carter 3D because it wouldn't stretch for the OP. And...It worked perfectly for me!

So last night I put in some more 3D discs to see if they would also work. ALL of my 3D BDs that I have tried so far have worked flawlessly with the Oppo 103D. They stretch just like they are supposed to with the push of a button.

So far I have tried:

John Carter 3D
Pirates of the Cab. On Stranger Tides 3D
Megamind 3D
Lego Movie 3D
Prometheus 3D
Kung Fu Panda 2 3D
Captain America 1st Avenger 3D
Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D
Gravity 3D

It is SO great to finally see these films in 3D fully filling my 12 foot screen -much better than zooming or masking. Tonight we're going to try watching Tintin and I'll test another 6 or 8 films, but I'm thinking it's smooth sailing and anything is going to work.

I love my new Oppo player!

Have you tried any Java. Several people say the oppo won't stretch Java disc. If it works on all 3d disc I will buy one.

Is there a list of confirmed 3D Java discs out there? Give me some choices and I'll be happy to try, I have at least 30 BD3D discs, one of them should be Java.

I THOUGHT they were ALL Java, none of them worked for me until now, and now they all do. I watched Oz the Great and Powerful the other night, it looked fantastic!
