Panamorph UH480 with transport/ JVC 520 Setup

Just wondering if anyone else has this combo and how to set up easily. I am upgrading my PJ from a smaller panasonic 3000u and pretty much eyeballed it and got it pretty close by just mounting the sled on plywood to the celing. I was wondering if they make a fitted piece of metal that attatches to the PJ so it is fool proof and spot on. Any other ideas. The reason I ask is because I need to move the piece of wood on my celing in order for it to fit as I only have 6 inches of clearance from the back wall to the back of my current PJ and to where my lens is attatched and this new PJ is much larger and wouldnt fit in between the two right now.

Panamorph did make a metal plate for exactly what you are asking about.
It wasn't cheap from memory.

These show up in the classifieds on rare occasion. They are designed to work with the Chief RPA ceiling mount. The alignment works out great, only complaint I have is the center of balance is very far toward the back when the lens is not installed. I prefer to align the projector first, then install the lens; this is difficult with the plate having the PJ shifted so far back from the center of the mount.

A couple sold in 2016:

Panamorph AK8J-3D Anamorphic Lens Mounting Plate for JVC Projectors

FS: Panamorph AK mounting plate for JVC projectors

I bought the one in the second link. John Schuermann was a pleasure to work with; I wound up buying a projector from him too.

Thanks for the advice. Probably just going to setup the PJ and then mount the lens later. Need to get some spacers so I can mount the lens further down or just use an extra 1/2 inch sheet of plywood strip for the transport to mount too.

I had to help align a Panamorph UH480 today mounted on the same plate.

What is the optimal distance from the screen with these? I believe 17 feet. Can someone with correction element A confirm please?

Can you post a picture of how you have it mounted? I have the same plate and not sure if I have all the required parts to mount my Sony with it.

The JVCs have 4 bolt holes in a big square. Sony have a triangle array designed for their mount.

What I didn't like about this installation is the 4 bolts holding the Panamorph. It did not allow any yaw.
