i know this isn't an electrical forum, but someone here might know.
i don't know where else to put this.

i've seen plenty of converters that take a usb cable in and then convert to be able to plug it into a standard outlet such as these:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...7L._SS400_.jpg

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...gL._SS500_.jpg

Is there any product that do the opposite?
Meaning take a 2 prong outlet in and convert to usb...to be able to power through a usb port?

basically, i want to take this:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50119407
and be able to power it via usb.
thanks.

Well I guess it all depends on how much current the thing draws and at what voltage. USB is 5V but usually only proveds less than 500ma in current. They haven't shown the specs. You could buy the thing and measure what the transformer puts out voltage wise and see what the amp load was. Another option if you want to power it via PC, would be to use one of the internal connectors to the power supply. You can get 5V or 12V in there.

You might also consider cold cathode as an alternative.
