Hey guys and gals, we have a building we converted into a bar and grill not for the public but friends. We added a nice audio system because we have a lot of friend who can sing rather well.

The speakers are

And the mixer is a Yamaha MG82cx

My main question is, can I just leave this stuff plugged in? The speakers have amps, not sure how a mixer works but one guy told me these will gobble up power even if theres nothing driving them. I know I have to plug in the mixer first but if leaving them on doesn't hurt I would rather go this route. I have tried contacting the places directly but not having much luck.

Also we just use an iPad for music, mainly iTunes radio and we also use a few karaoke apps and have a 100' cable that goes behind the bar and splits to a Mic stand, can't I just buy an Airport express and send the signal wirelessly via airplay I thought I read somewhere iTunes Radio isn't allowed wirelessly to an airport express but I'm sure I helped friend do this for his whole house audio and it worked great. I don't want to spend the $ 90 to find out I can't

Your equipment will draw current while idle, probably the equivalent to a light bulb. Maybe a switched power strip to power off/on everything if you wanted it.

As for the ITunes radio and airport express, they're supposed to be compatible, although there have been some issues with ITunes radio when it first launched. I'm sure they've worked the bugs out since then.
