Just got my 4311ci from EE, unfortunately it's broken. Just flashes red when I try to turn it on. Now I have to ship it back and they won't ship a new one until they get it. Very disappointed with both Denon and Electronics Expo.

i will never order from elec exp again, ordered a blu ray player from them 2 yrs ago & when it arrived was clearly marked "refurbished" on the box when it was supposed to be new & trying to get my money back & as well as a return shipping label was like pulling teeth!! many phone calls & arguements with the most rude people i've dealt with in a long time sealed their fate but i finally got a refund ck in the mail. horrible company!!

I've had nothing but excellent, positive experience(s) with EE. Ordered headphones & blu-ray players and never an issue. Sorry for your trouble.

Same! I have purchased two AVRs from EE, both over 1200$ each, and had nothing but positive experiences. Even though I will say that when I purchased a Denon 4311CI from them they initially told me that it was in stock when in fact it was not. I did receive the unit 2 weeks later though. I was kinda miffed that I had to call them to discover that it was out of stock when a week into the order I still never received a shipping confirmation, etc.

I will do business with them again.

The first Denon 4311 I received stopped working (preamp outputs) 7 days after I received it, EE replaced it quickly and with no issue. I will be doing business with them again as well.

They have worked out pretty decent for me so far. I ordered on Saturday and it shipped yesterday to be here on Monday. I was hoping it would make it here by the weekend, but no luck there. So far so good tho...

Turn it up!

Just took delivery on mine. Opening the box now. So excited! (ordered when out of stock on 5/22 so took just about two weeks)

My 4311 from EE came quick, well boxed and was great. Gotta say, my serial number was basically on paper taped to back of unit. I thought that was odd and made me suspicious. Is that their standard method for affixig serial umbers?

That does seem odd. Did the box or the packaging look as if it was opened? I'll take a look at the back panel of my 4311 when I get home. I'll let you know what mine looks like.

Box and everything else seemed unopened and did not say recertified anywhere. Was able to log into Denon Radio and everything else with the number. I would provide a picture if I could get to it reasonably.

You guys are starting to scare me. I haven't hooked my 4311ci yet because I still have to paint my room, get a ceiling mount for my projector, waiting for my screen to get here and get some odds n' ends from Monoprice. I did take the receiver out of the box and saw the 'sticker' on the back. To me it looks like a laminated decal from Denon, and according to the sales rep at EE, he told me Denon was in the process of not making the 4311ci, don't know how true that is, but that is what he told me. Anywho, I just checked my old 1908 and it has a serial label on it too, although this one is not laminated like the 4311ci is.

Has anyone verified with owners in the official 4311CI thread if their receivers sport these same "sticker" serials on the rear as well?

Hmmm., bought mine through EE as well, and now am concerned, as I have not removed the unit and unpacked it from the box. They are listed as a Denon Authorized dealer and we are told these are brand new NON-refurbished units with Denon's three-year warranty. Has anyone called Denon on this one to verify?

Got a reply on 4311 thread implying that the laminated serial number is a refurb.

I'm going to have to call EE and see what the deal is.

Just looked at mine. It is not "taped on" It is white with a bar code and then some numbers on it.

I just called Denon (right before 5pm) and they told me that these are all new units (mine too). The MAC number on the outside of the shipping box matches the units one. I guess I shouldn't have said "taped on" in my previous post, mine has the bar code and matching serial number.

Just so we all know what we're talking about, this is the bar code that is covered, through the use of adhesive, with clear plastic material . wink.gif

I guess it's been determined to be new, sorry for the confusion/commotion. Never seen that before.

the mac address is a sticker without a laminate over it...

SCORE... went back 3rd weekend in a row and finally manager on duty approved $999 for an open box 4311ci ($999 out the door, no tax in Oregon).

Got the Audyssey A409 mic, zone remote, manual, power cord & antenna but they did not have the box or main remote (which can be had for $50 online).

** Update: Went to another local BB/Mag and they had the 4311/3311 main remote (RC-1145) but no 4311/3311 anywhere in the store so when I explained that I had purchased a unit without the main remote they gave me the RC-1145. biggrin.gif

Pretty happy with that deal but just as everything else in consumer electronics I'll probably see one for hundreds less within the next year.redface.gif

Best of luck guys!

Congrats! Like I said before, my BB just doesn't budge on their open boxes. That's a very nice deal, enjoy!

Thanks, and funny that you mentioned the DefTech as one of the local BB/Mag's here also had a lone tower sitting in a corner for several months, last price I recall seeing was about 60% off though so somebody got a nice deal.

Just wanted to give an update on my situation. I received my replacement from EE yesterday and it works properly so I'm happy with that. I do think EE did an extremely poor job handling the return, but in the end it all worked out.

EE has the 4311CI for even less now. Add the AVR-4311CI for $2099 to the cart and get $905 off with coupon code BENSBARGAINS + $30 shipping for a total of $1224 shipped. I just put my order in. smile.gif

I've been watching this thread for the past few weeks and checked on it Sunday. I used the "GRANDSLAM" code from a few pages back and it worked too for that price. Placed the order Sunday night and am just waiting on it to ship. I hope it gets here before the weekend. I also ordered a mic stand/adapter from Amazon for the calibration.
