Yeah usually they give a 5% discount if you buy speakers with the sub, thus the "package" discount but I just entered the code without adding speakers and it gave the discount. Still not enough for me to bite but thanks for the heads up!

Not sure if this worked for anybody else but I tried and no good. I was looking at the SB-1000. They said 5% is for returning customers and I can find the SB-1000 in the outlet for 5% off. Not exactly the "huge savings" they claim on the website for an outlet item. I will probably just order a new one. Didn't hurt to ask I suppose, especially since my original budget was $200 and I have to pay tax in NJ. This sub would be awesome in my bedroom so just trying to justify the cost to myself

I emailed them and asked if there are any current discounts. They told me to look at the Outlet store. Not exactly a discount, is it?

I do not know; sorry. But this is the reply I received from SVS: "Don’t forget you get a 5% returning customer discount (use the coupon code repeatcust-h2 when checking out) on all your SVS purchases".

If I we're a first time svs buyer, would I be able to get any type of discount? I'm looking to get SB-1000, but their Merlin thingy told me the best match is SB 12 NSD. Merlin only asks what type of speakers I have, but not room size, receiver, etc.

Yamaha RX-V1065 receiver
Bowers & Wilkins 685 front speakers
SVS SB-1000 subwoofer
Marantz PMD350U CD/cassette player
Sony BDP-N460 Blu Ray player
Sony Bravia KDL-40V5100 flat screen TV
Wii game console
Roku 2XD internet streaming box

You are right about Merlin not asking room size.
It recommended the pb-1000 for me, but I ended up ordering the pc-12 NSD to get the sound I needed. Had to pay return shipping on the pb-1000 because of it.

I submitted an email to SVS Tech Support regarding my room size and the SB-1000 . .. and below is the prompt response I received:

Hi Steve – good to hear from you.

In your size room (9x10), the SB-1000 would be a very strong performer and will match well with the Ultra bookshelves helping to cover that last octave or so for your music. The Ultra bookshelves are very capable for their form factor, but still don’t handle that last octave with the authority you’d normally like just because of their size.

Don’t forget you get a 5% returning customer discount (use the coupon code " repeatcust-h2 " when checking out) on all your SVS purchases.

Merlin doesn’t take into consideration room size or listening level which is why it didn’t list the SB-1000 as a candidate. Your room size makes the SB-1000 a great fit for the task.

Thanks,

Doug
