Just purchased a 40" LCD as a Computer Monitor at WALMART.

Element 40" Class 60Hz LCD 1080p HDTV
Model# ELDFW406

HDMI Inputs: 3

40" screen corner to corner

$298.00 + 7.0% TAX = $318.86

Looking for rebates or anything I can get now!

Found your post by looking for reviews. Details are pretty sketchy (4000:1 contrast, etc..) and no other reviews yet so give us your opinion and what your using it for. Wife was wanting it for Christmas for one of the kids but wally world was out (new shipment tonight per manager) but warranty is only 90 days.
I'm thinking for just an X-Box and anime it would serve the purpose well.
Your thoughts ?

Hi I found this forum by looking up the model number of this tv! I bought mine for $278 at wally world & with texas tax it came out to $300.94 which is a bargain! The Picture quality is actually pretty good! I can view it from different angles very well which I like! If you want it for a kid then its great! Contrast ratio? The manual doesn't say anything about it, but the blacks do look decent & colors do look vibrant even in the lower lamp setting! Menu features are better than I expected & same goes for sound which is pretty good! The only thing I could say is that the remote buttons feel kind of wiggly! That doesn't bother me because I have a really nice universal harmony remote for that! Most tvs of this brand seem to have their power supply go out which is true for most other brands too! If that ever gives out well I'll just get my trusty soldering iron & fix that which is a simple fix for me! So with that said I can tell you that its worth buying specially for the price! I use it for netflix & blu-ray movies so I'm pleased with it thus far! Anime looks really good & games display well too! Would make a nice christmas gift for sure! I hope this helps some!

Sorry Codacious for not posting back sooner.
Work and all keeps me busy.

Par5me what model number exactly did you get?

This model number isn't even on the Register List at Elements website/support.
Also my waranty is for 1 year.
Still have time to go buy extended warranty.

Thanks for your input. I just bought this TV @ Target for $237.00 and I found it a steal. It looked great on display. I think the Netflix feature is pretty neat. I'm just curious who makes Element. I was told it was Panasonic, but not sure. Being in our 50's. kids out of the house, the price was a no brainer to me. I don't need the *Highest Rated* or *Which does everything* It sounds by your review, it does all I need in a TV . Thx!!!

Got this tv from Target as well.. 297 w/tax out the door..

The pic on mines a bit intense color wise, and I have yet to figure out the best setting for it. My only gripe is a slight lag in sound to image, and theres no way to change it..

The way into the hidden menus is from the main settings menu screen. Press menu on the remote. The main setup menu comes up. From there, press 0000 and the hidden settings comes up. It's rather deep to say the least. And I'm not messing with anything in there. Wish I could find what all the settings do, but I've come up with nothing in the last week of searching..

A few months ago I snagged a Seiki 32" 1080p tv for $161 shipped to use as a computer monitor. I love the size, but color reproduction compared to what im use to is very bad. Its not unusable and i dont regret it, but just throwing that out there. 40" may seem a bit big to use as a monitor and im guessing its color will be quite dull.

for $40-50 more you could get that seiki 39" 4k...
