Lowest it's been in a couple weeks

http://www.jr.com/onkyo/pe/ONK_TXNR818/

J&R is an authorized Onkyo dealer.

I too am looking for a good price on this unit. I suspect the following are not authorized dealers but how can I verify? Also worried these may be the b-stocks in addition to the possible warranty problems, bad customer service, etc...
DirectDial: $775.99
EastCoastTVs: $919.00
PowerSellerNYC: $929.95

I think there have been 1k ish deals for awhile now, Guess I was hoping for something better by the 4th of July but no home runs yet. 950 still looks like a good price, cheapest XT32 capable unit to date.

I doubt those 3 are authorized. Cheapest it has been is $899 from an authorized dealer. Onecall and J&R are both authorized and both have free shipping and (probably) no tax where you are.

UPDATE
Cheapest is now J&R at 949.88 - $15 code (JULY4) from the main page of their website
Total is $934.88

Me too. Coupon code appears good until Sunday. I think I'll start calling the usual suspects and telling them lowest bidder (that's an authorized dealer) gets my money. I just don't see the advantage in the 4311 worth the 260ish price difference. The features of Sub EQ I can accomplish with my SPL meter (and maybe use REW too) and a little time.

I like J&R, done business with them in the past and have no concern doing so again.

Search for them here:

I'm 99% sure DirectDial is not authorized, not sure about the others.

Eastcoast TVs lists a location in Linden, NJ zip 07036 - does not appear in Onkyo's search of authorized dealers
DIrectDial - Buffalo NY - 14216 - does not appear
PowerSeller NYC does not have an address on its website and I can't find them either.

From Onkyo's page: http://www.us.onkyo.com/locations_intdealer.cfm

ONKYO has chosen a select group of Authorized Internet Dealers which have agreed to provide outstanding on-line service to our customers.

IF YOU PURCHASE AN ONKYO PRODUCT FROM AN UNAUTHORIZED INTERNET DEALER, YOUR ONKYO WARRANTY WILL NOT BE VALID, so check your source or contact us - we'll gladly direct you to an Onkyo Authorized Dealer!

J&R is reputable, I've bought from them before. They have a real brick and mortar showroom and actual human beings who work there.

Thanks for figuring that out, I'm definitely sticking to authorized dealers.

Agreed, I'm likely pulling the trigger on this. Suppose I'll call vanns and EE tomorrow to see if they want to go lower. Anyone else I should hit up like newegg? Maybe the AVS store?

Vanns and NewEgg are both good vendors, bought from both of them. I'm sure Electronics Expo is reputable as well.

You will probably get one or more of them to undercut J&R by a few bucks. Good luck!

B+H and amazon (on behalf of J+R) both came down to $949. Couldn't find it on EE website so I assume the are out of stock. Web chatted with B+H, 949 is the best they would do. Called Vann's, $919 and I pulled the trigger. WooHoo 818 headed my way.

Here are the list of authorized internet dealers, none of those skethy prices I listed earlier in the thread are in there.
http://www.onkyousa.com/showdealers.cfm?class=Receiver&m=TX-NR818

Vann's, EE, J+R, B+H, NewEgg, Amazon, and several more are authorized.

This thread seems to have slowed down a bit. The price does seem to still be decreasing a bit more each week. EE seems to be the cheapest I could find recently at $899 shipped. May be even less if you call rather than buy online?

If/when it does I'll be subbing out my 4311ci order for one of these. I can no longer justify the 500+ price difference just for SubEQ.
