I dont think they expect anyone to pay that, they aren't even offering free shipping at that price. If they dont jack up the price after every sale then people who dont stalk the site won't feel like there $299 price was special.

$999 is pretty rediculous however.

In your cases, how long did it take to get a response from support@klipsch.com?

Thanks!

I received an email response from Klipsch technical/warranty support today. The email was well written and polite. They placed a parts order to send me a new grille under warranty, (no cost to me), and I got a separate email confirming the order. The caveat was that the grilles are backordered and they don't expect to get any in the US until July 1st. So I guess I have to wait for a few months. They did say if any arrived sooner that they would ship me one as soon as they are available.

I just wanted to post an update and let the rest of you know about the backorder on grilles in case you are affected as well.

I sent in an e-mail but didn't hear back for a few days so I called in. Apparently they have tons of e-mails to get through but if you call, they'll do a search and resolve your issue over the phone. Very painless.

The es250 and es150 have known problems with the amp and circuit boards. Go to Amazon and read the reviews.

I just sold my old REL Strata III for 400 bucks and bought this from newegg for 280. Wow! I am very impress with sub and surprised how much bass this sub produces.
No broken parts.
I didn't play with the sub's settings. I let my Yammy A2000 "the YPAO auto calibration" took care of the adjustment for me. Works every well with my VA speakers. Very happy with this purchase so far.

Wild guess is that silentseba isn't in the lower 48.

....does anyone know why this response is falling off a table at 70hz? Am I missing something here, because I might order a pair of these, but if they fall like this at around 68hz, that's a little worrisome

My guess would be because of room placement. The RW12 can go much lower.

I'm worried about the other end of the graph. Maybe I'll PM him. He might have just cut the graph from 65hz or so and up, but I don't know why he'd do that. No real response above 65-70hz is a little weird

^ I turn the mains off in my measuring - that's not the limit of the subwoofer above 70 or 80hz, just the effect of the AVR crossover. I measured the subs in several different rooms in different threads and you have nothing to worry about up top.

The Klipsch RW-12D is a bargain at the sale pricepoint. Buy it up and enjoy it for a few years. To reach the next tier of sub it'll cost quite a bit more than $300. There are better subs - but not at this pricepoint.

I don't know...seems like the BIC PL-200 for $279 shipped is a better deal for a tighter sub, but maybe that's just from my own research...plus it doesn't ship broken, like the Klipsch so often does...

Having had both the Klipsch and the PL-200 in the same system at the same time, I will just say that there is no real comparison between the two. The Klipsch just wallops the PL-200 in every situation in my system. MY use is 99% movies so take that into account. Couple that with the fact that there are so many tweaks that can be done with the Klipsch and the fact that you can use a universal remote to control many of the Klipsch's functions there in no way I would go with a Pl-200 over the Klipsch for the same price of $279 shipped.
People whining about the shipping damage have a concern, but I have yet to hear anyone who was not compensated or had it taken care of. The newer double box has alleviated most of the shipping concerns..
