Just had to relay a recent purchasing experience with Monoprice. Yesterday I got an order together for new in wall and ceiling speakers from Monoprice along with some banana plugs and cable. I couldn't find any online coupons that would work so I used their text message/online assistance and advised "Brenda" ( who was probably somewhere in India but thats another story) that I had an order together but was not going to complete it until I could find a coupon. You know what? She took 20 percent off the order. Can't beat that for service. It pays to ask....

monoprice has a 20% off coupon code INCENTIVE that is valid until the end of the month, applies to the entire order up to $500, but can only be used once per account.

That's the code she gave me. Tried that same code numerous times with different accounts and no luck. She just went and credited it directly...

Hmm, I know you have to be logged in for the code to work, but if you were trying different accounts, then obviously you were logged in. I placed an order mid-december and it worked fine.

I'm not going to crap on Monoprice.

There's a reason you buy from Monoprice and it's not their stellar customer service.

Six orders to them and six separate dramas.

Glad they came through for you.

Just keep talkin'. I'll let you know when you're right.

5 orders and 0 issues for me, and the one customer service interaction I ever had was quite helpful. I would guess it all depends on exactly what you are ordering. Maintaining a myriad electronics inventory as unique as theirs is likely very challenging, in terms of supply chain & sales operations (product knowledge).

Most of my orders have consisted of CL2 cabling/wire, connectors, mounting brackets & HDMI extenders. In the one instance that I interacted with their CS, I needed the physical dimensions of the casing of an electric projection screen but all the published specs were only related to the screen itself. Somone responded to my inquiry w/in 24 hours and had the measurements a day later (not sure if they busted out the measuring tape or called China).

Just wanted to share my experience.

ditto. I mostly just buy cabling or other wire from them, though. Simple enough.

Their lifetime warranty on cables is really lifetime. I had one fail after 3 1/2 years and they rma'd it immediately. I didn't even have to pay any shipping costs.

I've been buying from them for years and had one shipping issue which was handled immediately by the CS rep. From what i've experienced they do have stellar cust service. But i guess with only one tiny issue in 6 years how would i know.

Four orders, never had any issues with them other than challenges in finding the items I want to buy. Their prices are spectacularly low, and product quality is excellent, but their search engine is miserable.

Placed an order on Monday, realized I didn't use the "incentive" code. 2 minutes live chat and they credited me $29. Fast shipping, scheduled to arrive on Thursday. Pretty excited to get their Redmere 50' HDMI cable for a new TV in my son's room!

Keep us posted on how it works. I've tried two different 60 foot redmeres from monoprice and neither would give a signal.

They were very quick to agree to credit me for the coupon code, which I asked before placing the order because their system wouldn't accept it. Received email on Jan 8 saying credit processed. Still waiting for the actually credit to show up on my credit card.

In all fairness, this is the only problem I have had with them after 6 orders, but it is 20% off of a $250 order.

Placed an order on 02/14/13 for a set of 5 banana plugs and hdmi cable. Was shipped out via USPS. Package was out for delivery in my city on 02/19/13 but was delivered yesterday. Package had a sticker that there were no contents inside and opened. Except for a packing list and a piece of cardboard inside the items i ordered were missing. Took several pictures and emailed Monoprice. Rep emailed me today and said they are going to replace it and ship it 2 day for free,

I had a similar issue with monoprice. Inside of a box containing a wall mount, speaker wire, speaker mounts etc, there were supposed to be several sets of banana plugs but the box had a small tear in it and i only recieved two pairs of bananas. Monoprice was quick to send out replacements (after taking picture) but still set me back a couple days. I did understand that to be a shipping issue but they certainly could've packed it better.

+1, did you see how much tv mounts are at lowes, home depot, best buy, etc...

I've ordered a ton of stuff from them over the last couple years, all positive experiences and fair prices. Wish the products were made in my "wish my stuff was made in one of these places" list. Would pay more for that.

Which HDMI cables do you guys recommend for connecting from AV equipment to my TV? There are so many to choose from on Monoprice's website. I'm looking to purchase 2 at around 20ft long. Thanks for your help

They'll both do audio return channel and 3D, neither will do network. If that fits your situation. I'd probably end up throwing away the extra 6 bux and gain nothing wondering if there was some difficult situation the thicker wire would get the signal there and the other one wouldn't or if the thicker one has better shielding. On the shorter runs I just stick to the lower grade though. 20 feet is kinda that weird in between point where it should work but some folks start having issues, I think, but could be wrong.

I recommend getting the "high speed" cables. They also have RedMere cables that are thinner if that would be beneficial to you.

Been shopping at monoprice for going on 10 years now. Never a problem with CS but I wish they had the ordering kiosks in there warehouse like they used to with same day ordering and will call pickup.
