Just picked this up open box at my local BB for 387.11. They had 2 of them. Thanks Skrill for the heads up!

I just replaced my 606 with the vsx-60. The receiver was $308 + BB 4 yr warranty + tax = $392.

All I can say is that it is a very much better receiver.

Pros:
-Audio is so much more accurate, it's hard to describe but you know it when you listen to it.
-Ethernet; being able to turn on the receiver with the app is great.
-Operating temperature is much better, Onkyo runs hot in comparison.
-The Pioneer audio calibration is better than the Onkyo one.

Cons:
-Learning the receiver requires a learning curve and is very confusing at first but worth it in the end.
-Blue power light is too bright and a bit distracting.

Here are a few screenshots of the apps; iControlAV2012 and AVNavigator:

Man I'd pick one up in a heartbeat for that cost. Dang it.

I didn't look at specs or other features but the 60 lacks a second Hdmi out and pre-outs to add an external amp.

salaseghs, your first screenshot has a Tone/Balance button. I dont see that in mine. How did you set that up? What equipment do you have? What version of iControl? What does that button do?

It is dependent on the Listening Mode. Once you are able to select it, you have access to Bypass or On. If you select on, you can adjust Bass, Treble, and Balance.

I have a VSX-60. App version is 1.2.0.

Edit: I have the app configured as Expert within Settings (inside of the app) > Operation Mode.

Thank for the post. We have different versions of the software. I think you have iCOntrolAV2012 which I can never install. IPad says there is another version and installs iCOntrolAV2 which doesnt have your Tone button, but instead has a 9 band equalizer. I also dont have the Sound Explorer button. What does it do?

I found this app indispensable. Emphasis, dialog enhancement and Finger equalizer are alone life savers. Just an amazing app.

Thanks. Your app does more than mine. Looks like you have VSX-60. Good for you! I dont have X-curve, some other things. I wonder if extra features you have are because of the different app or different VSX (mine is a VSX-53)? Also, how in the world did you manage to take a screenshot from an iPad?
