Good to hear! I am jealous. I haven't had a new audio toy for a while now!

I looked at the sc 65 today and saw a denon 3313 on sale for 599 on clearence. I saw the sc 65 on sale for 999 and I asked the head of the meg dept, and he said that the sc-65 end of life is april 6. so would they go on clearence then, and wouldthe price be better than the 999 they have now? shoudl I buy now or wait and see it if will drop?

Maybe, maybe not. That is the gamble you take. Honestly, I wouldn't expect there to be much inventory left after this sale ends. Also, the "end of life" date from Best Buy's internal system can change as a product nears the end of its' life cycle. The date may be accurate, but there is no guarantee. Your best bet would be to purchase one close enough to that date that your 15-day return window falls after 4/6. If they do down in price get the better price. If not, then you still got a great deal.

Nice. If you don't mind, what kind of a deal did you get on the 80 inch LED?

I'm in that stage where I have a perfectly fine working 65 inch Panny Plasma, and at some point I want to go bigger in my theatre room. I don't know if I want to go projector or TV. I was looking at one of the higher end 80 inch Sharp's at a magnolia outside dallas and man was it awesome looking, but it was like 6 grand maybe?

I don't want to spend that much.

Right now I'm milling a VSX-53 (500 at best buy) or even the SC-67 that's running like 1000 (I think it's the 67). But I'd like to get more info on that TV.

I am afraid I'll end up waiting too long too. I flirted with a SC model a while back, didn't get it. My VSX-23 works just fine, but I wouldn't mind a few more bells and whistles on the VSX-53, but then I see those SC units so cheap.

I need to quit looking at the stuff.

Def not 6 grand anymore. I got it for $4100 delivered from east coast tv. Think it's back up on amazon as well.

The 80" at Magnolia is much less than $6000 now. I don't recall it ever being full MSRP though. When did you see it at that price?

Hence the "maybe"...I wasn't sure how much it was, but I thought it was higher 5,000's closer to 6K. I easily could've been wrong. All I know is it was awesome looking. And to be honest, being in the magnolia, maybe it was their 90 inch?

I just know it was a lot of money. I was helping my step dad with a TV purchase and my kids and brother were watching avengers. I sat down for a minute, and I thought it looked great. I thought it was 5999.99

edit: I was down in Dallas after Thanksgiving, so that's when I saw it.

I would not call that a deal when you can get abrand news 1522 for $599...

Yes I'm not sure why people are paying $700, $900 for this receiver?

Just go to Costco and get it for $599. http://slickdeals.net/f/5927446-Pioneer-SC-1522-K-9-2-Channel-Network-Ready-AV-Receiver-599-99-Costco-in-store-only-YMMV

There is clearly a difference between the two. It is not just the name. It probably uses better capacitors and a more solid chassis at least.

Yep there is a difference. The elite sticker on the front and the warranty.

I will take the Costco "lifetime satisfaction guarantee" over ANYONE'S warranty every time...
but yes, the elite does have a cooler front panel and nicer lights...:-)

Not $400+ difference. Received a SC-1522-K on Friday and returned the SC-65 on Saturday.

No Joke! This reminds of the days were people were mulling over the difference between a Denon a100 and a 4311! But this price point is so far out of whack the 1522 is a no brainer compared to the 65...

Exactly the same receiver, save for the Elite badge on front, the color of the display and the one year warranty.
