Plus join ClubOnkyo for free and get lower prices and an extra $10 off.

This gets you a a TX-NR515 for about $179 shipped.

the refurbed 818 for $510, plus any taxes, etc., looks like a price low. I bought a new one in Feb. Very happy so far.

It's for 'wall hung dude'.... sheesh ... dirty minds around these parts....

As long as the HDMI board holds out...I'm speaking from experience.

Recent 600 series. Very flaky. Have since had a couple of Yamahas and now a Pioneer SC-1522k, all with same long HDMI cable. Onkyo would flake out every few minutes, snow screen.

This is my opinion only: I don't trust this AVR brand. Make sure you get a good warranty, and it isn't too difficult to return the unit. I really liked my Onkyo receiver, don't get me wrong. It just was troublesome with HDMI.

Amazon warehouse deals has some good pricing on Onkyo and Pioneer currently. I picked up a 717 last night for $430 shipped. The Pioneer 1022k was $250ish shipped.

My 616 has been good so far. Still holding my breath though. Paid $329 new plus the $23 wireless dongle which works better than I had expected. If you get a good one...it is a lot of AVR for the money. Worst case scenario for me....one of the only Onkyo repair shops in a 5 state radius is right up the road.
