Any opinions on how two of these would measure up to one klipsch rw-12d?

Not sure maybe a good question for the subwoofer forum.

Two of these would provide a smoother overall response in your room than a single Klipsch RW12-D. But the Klipsch would probably be able to dig a little deeper.

What he said above, but HOWEVER, remember the biggest factor to consider is your ROOM. This can make or break a subwoofer if you are limited to where you can put it. I have had $3000 subwoofers that sounded just "ok" in my room because of where I was constrained to put them, and $400 subwoofers that would rock your world in the same spot. Having had both the polk and the Klipsch in my house at the same time, the Klipsch is the obvious winner for me by far IN MY ROOM. I only had one though to compare to one Klipsch..

Was wondering the same thing and the thought of adding this as a second sub in the room where I have my Take Classic sub since my room is too big for my single Take sub. The specs alone on this one would wallop my Energy sub.

So I bought this sub instead of buying the energy take classic 5.1 system.... Will eventually upgrade my speakers individually.... Thoughts on this subject for $150?

Expires soon though as its on Bid. it's new, but in unsealed box hence the discount

I have mine in my living room and it is good for the price. I'd doesn't compare to the Outlaw I have in my basement but even B-Stock of that runs $450 mor than this so that is to be expected.

they are not the final word in all things subwoofer, obviously. But for what you get for the price they are among the best if not the best ~$200 sub around. I liked the one I bought a couple of years ago so much that when someone was selling one locally on Craigslist for $100 i jumped all over it. I've been using 2 505's for a couple of years now and cant say i have been disappointed in anyway. Personally for the type of music i like they fit in wonderfully (mostly electronic based music - synth-pop, industrial, EBM, darkwave, goth, etc), For HT use, while not the lowest diggers around, I did measurements on my pair when set up in my old house and they got down to 23hz before they started rolling off. I believe they are rated to start rolling off around 25-28hz, but with proper set up and room gain in play mine dug a bit deeper. I would recommend them in a heartbeat for any one looking for a sub in the $200ish range.

I am likely upgrading early next year and will be stepping up to a hsu or svs sub, but the time ive had with my 505's they have been a blast.

I don't need snobs to tell me how to think, thank you!

I bought 2 for the $150 free shipped Free on Newegg and rec'd 3 business days later - great service on Newegg - previous low price I have seen was $180 on amazon. Been listening to them for a week now and am extremely pleased. This is an amazing value - I can't see how you can do any better for 300 watt continuous power for $150 each - it is a steal of a deal..The only other possibility to consider in my mind is he Dayton Sub 12 which is actually slightly cheaper and a fan of many on the budget subwoofer forum. I agree placement of 2 subs is critical for optimum sound especially in larger rooms - mine is 2300 cubic feet and I will optimize the placement in the coming months. I'm sure one could do better in the $600 budget for better lows but I'm very happy with the performance of 2 for $300.

How much "better" is having 2 subwoofers vs 1 subwoofer?

It depends on room size. Suffice to say 2 is better than 1 and 4 is better than 2 but you probably get to that 80% awesomeness with 2 subs placed properly in the room to avoid nulls.
I have a 2300 Cubic ft room and am very happy with 2 x PSW 505 - I'm sure I could do better with a HSU or Rw-12D but the Polk for $150 each represented very good value to me

Hmmm..... that doesn't sound too good. This is what I would do. Unplug the sub from the receiver and touch the center conductor with your finger without touching the ground shield. You should hear a loud hum from the sub. You might want to turn it down first and then advance the volume as you tap on the end.

Depending upon your receiver, I understand that some models might disable the sub output if you set the front speakers to full range instead of assigning a cutoff frequency (e.g. 80hz).

I will look at this tomorrow when I get some time.. I have no idea how to set frequency or anything...
