Awesome. I did not see any reference to the offer on my order details. Any way to confirm that the $400 credit will be applied to my account after 7 days?

It does not say that in the 1-2-3 step process except that it will appear within 7 days. I guess you can take Amazon.com's word on it!

Amazon is usually really good about these credits, but I would take a screen shot of the deal just in case. However, if your not going to use $400 at Amazon, then I would suggest calling some authorized deals and asking their best price, might be surprised how close the end result is.

Does this usually sell at MSRP (which is what you end up paying for it on Amazon)? If so, that is a great price after the $400 credit assuming you intended to spend $400 in the near future on Amazon.

I had found it for less than MSRP but not for $900 shipped. Since we shop so often at Amazon (baby supplies, etc) the $400 is as good as cash to me.

No, savvy shoppers don't pay anywhere close to MSRP on Denon.  This is a good deal on a great-value AVR, but it's not much less than the steadily available big discount from authorized etailers.

I'd call our forum affiliate about a pricematch-all you gotta do is call:

"JD" – AVScience Sales, 585-645-1006 or 877-823-4452 ext 103

Monday – Friday 9am – 9pm EST (weekends when on the forum or lv msg)

jd@avscience.com

Authorized dealer for Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Klipsch, KEF, Def Tech

And if you're even considering the 4520, for sure call jd!

Yes, I still like playing with Dalis.

I would say you could take this statement to the bank. I saved a healthy chunk on a new Onkyo and it came still factory taped and double boxed. I plan on calling JD later on when I can afford a projector.

Agreed with above. I've been talking with JD for a few days now about this very receiver and won't be going through amazon.

Wow, if JD is offering a better price or a match then it is good not to be stuck by buying more stuff from amazon.com.

Also, note that promotional credit expires March 31, 2014.

I think Amazon charges tax too? JD does not unless you live in NY.

Think it depends on the item for Amazon to charge tax, I live in Tx & get taxed for music & few other things, but just bought a Polk RTi A5 & was charged no tax! biggrin.gif

That is strange because it was a big deal when amazon started to charge tax for everything. I guess you got lucky!

It's actually dependent on your particular state & the legislature as to what they've put the screw to Amazon & others to charge tax for internet sales & so forth...

Probably, Amazon definitely charges sales tax to people in TX because they have a "physical presence" here of some kind; it's probably a distribution warehouse of some kind.

Same in VA, unfortunately (in regards to Amazon sales tax). I will be calling JD this evening to ask about a price match/deal as I've had my eye on the x4000.

Amazon deal is sold out, at least when I checked moments ago.

The E3000 seems to be at a good discount too. Any strong opinions on this model?

It's not that it's sold out. You had to purchase the Denon X4000 on Dec 2nd (Cyber Monday) to receive the $400.00 promotion.  At least this is what I read Monday night when I seen it. I went ahead and bought it so I would get the $400.00 promotion money. I shop and buy a lot on Amazon. I was in the market for a new receiver but had my eyes on the NAD 758, Cambridge Azur 551R or Anthem MRX 300 /500. I am not really a Denon man but because I keep reading how good the Audyssey XT32 is on this receiver and the $400.00 promotion Amazon was offering I decided to buy it. I still have not decided if I am going to keep it or use it.

Living room; Samsung PN60F5300B Plasma TV, Marantz SR5008 AVR, Pioneer Elite BDP-80FD blu-ray, Definitive Mytho 2's fronts, Definitive Pro Center 1000, Definitive Di 5.5R in ceilings, SVS SB-1000 subwoofer, Comcast DVR HD box.

Garage; Sherwood RX-4105 2 channel stereo receiver, Samsung DVD-C500 CD player, Klipsch KG 2.5 med Oak speakers

Do you mean the X3000? If you do, the X4000 is far superior and not just for the extra channels, but for the audyssey upgrade and other features as well.

Bought mine from JD tonight as well as an Oppo 103. What a great person to deal with. I'd love to hear amazon customer service answer the questions I was asking.

I don't see them on the authorized dealers list on Denon.com. So in all likelihood the manufacturers warranty would not be honored.

I did get the X4000 from a listed authorized dealer on Cyber Monday for this price though, effectively matching Amazon without the hassle of tax and a $400 promotional credit to spend.
